We selected this resort based on reviews and local knowledge. However with the event of Covid our April 2020 trip had to be cancelled and the resort agreed to refund our deposit....................................despite many emails now and their agreement to make the refund our deposit still hasn't been refunded. Sheik, the financial director, isn't complying and is ignoring our messages. Needless to say we will be choosing a different resort when we finally get to visit Fiji in the future. Shame as we were looking forward to staying but after this encounter are extremely disappointed.
It certainly was our slice of heaven at this dreamy property. We tried the private vila with its own private pool, definately a luxurious flavor to this underated property. Property was clean, self contained and a real bargain in this Covid time. Would we return???...yes yes and yes....it certainly was worth every cent and we loved our stay at this enchanting getaway.
Unfortunately we went over the weekdays so the restaurant was closed 😕 The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. The ocean view room was wooden and had a rustic feel to it and was somewhat cozy. Would have loved to try the food. Maybe next time!
We stayed at First Landing for 3 nights. It was a good stay. Villa was clean and had all the necessary items from pots and pans to washing detergent. Since our villa was right next to the beach we had the most amazing view of the sunrise and sunset. Beach was not that good as when you enter the water (sea) it had sticky muddy surface. Other than that it was great stay for the price we paid.
I cannot speak any higher of this resort! My husband and I came here 3 years ago for our honeymoon and stayed in a beachfront bure, all the villas on the left side of the resort if looking from the beach have been built since our last visit and HOLY COW are they nice. We thought our bure last time was great and the new ones are EVEN BETTER! This time we stayed in a 1 bedroom garden view villa and would do it again in a heartbeat. They say one bedroom but really it might as well be 2. There are 2 full or queen size beds inside and a fully stocked kitchen (by stocked I mean dishes and cookware, not food). We had our own private pool which was sooooooo nice! We still went to the big community pool to get to socialize and drink with the other guests but spent quite a bit of time just swimming in our own away from prying eyes and playing cards by the pool drinking wine we brought over from NZ. They do supply kayaks and snorkeling equipment but we brought our own and enjoyed snorkeling near the docks. Last time they went fishing every morning and we wish they would bring that back as it was our favorite thing to do 3 years ago. The staff is the best part of staying here though. They are all so incredibly happy and friendly and make you feel like part of their family, so much so it is hard to leave. They even leave you beautiful messages on the bed every day. They even were so kind as to find and bring me a fresh aloe plant one night at dinner after I got a particularly bad sunburn and the gift shop had already closed. They serenade you every night at dinner and take song requests. They know you by name by the end of the first day. We treated ourselves to spa treatments this time as well and it was so relaxing my husband fell asleep getting a scalp massage. They are incredibly reasonably priced and the food is FANTASTIC! We got the seafood platter one night to split and could not even come close to finishing it but it was all SO GOOD! The muddy punch is one of my favorite drinks they make and the bartenders really know how to make an attractive, delicious drink. The bar snacks are all really good especially the chicken goujons, potato wedges and egg rolls. There is also a cute little restaurant an easy walk down the road to the marina called the Boatshed if you want a meal off property. But seriously the experience here is so good you really don't need to venture off property very much. They do have an activities desk that will help arrange off property tours. One we highly recommend is ziplining at Sleeping Giant and the Coral Cats cruise. Coral cats has some of the best food and snorkeling we have experienced in our 2 trips to Fiji. Totally worth the money. The resort also hosts a cultural dance show with fire dancers once a week and it is soooooo good! They are really talented. Needless to say, we cannot wait to come back and will not even consider staying anywhere but here!…
