I spent a few days in January 2017 with my family in the non-hotel Hotel Villa Pottipati in Maleshwaram / Bangalore. The hotel is great, large, spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and attentive. There is a large swimming pool amidst a park. We were fully satisfied. Unfortunately there is (except in the afternoon) no drinks or tea. This...

The photos are far from reality, home maintenance is neglected, the fence around the House is dilapidated, the pool water is blurred, some walls of the room and the bathroom took the humidity and the room price is overvalued compared to other accommodations in the same category.

Great staff. Really homely atmosphere. Comfortable rooms. Very nice breakfast with excellent service. BUT: Needs a coat of paint all round and a little more work on the garden and outside areas. Brighter lights all areas. Seems to have deteriorated since our last visit there a few years ago. Will return and hope to see improvements.

Writing this review as I am staying here...my first night of three. Don't be fooled by the photos. It can not provide the basic services. I have travelled around India 5 times in all and for the price, this does not match standards. We Are the only guests here and I'm not surprised. Its a 'home Stay'. My advice would...

We had 2 nights here and I really liked it. It's a small heritage hotel with nice grounds and really good staff. Our suite was big with a comfortable bed and bathroom with lots of hot water and places for your stuff so well as a big balcony . It's not for Hilton lovers but if you like old, and...

This is a gem of a place! If you like a sanitised, characterless, corporate hotel - then this is not the place for you. But if you appreciate personal service and friendly staff, lovely surroundings and somewhere with hospitality and the feeling that you are staying in a beautiful home then you will not be disappointed. Thank you for making...

The place is beautiful - a heritage home lovingly cared for. The room we stayed in Gadwal used to be a barn for storing rice and now accommodates 3 people, one on the mezzanine floor. The food is prepared fresh to order though there aren't many options to choose from. The staff is very friendly and helpful and help add...

I write this while attempting to sleep inn the Gadwal room of this absolutely terrible villa hotel ( you can't even call it that). I for one love old world charm and character but this is down right pathetic. The sheer amount of dust dirt and filth absolutely everywhere makes for a dangerously unhygienic place to stay. Countless lizards ,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A garden home in Malleswaram, which was once the vegetarian- Brahmin stronghold of Bangalore. The name Pottipati derives from a village in Andhra Pradesh from where its owners – the Reddy family, originally migrated to Bangalore.Among the bustle of glass and concrete towers, relish pastoral charm, under a giant Shivalinga tree, Gulmohars, Jacarandas, Jack Fruit, Mangoes and Avacado trees, as also parterres full of crotons and seasonal flowers. The intimacy of old-world-rooms named after traditional sarees, a granite pillared lounge with a skylight, with basic business hotel facilities and a small conference room. When you stay at Villa Pottipati you join Bengaluru’s fight to retain its magnificent heritage structures by making restoration a viable, self-sustainable tourism activity. ... more   less
