My daughter was looking for an intimate and original setting for her wedding. We found the perfect spot for the wedding of her dreams at Hacienda Vargas in Algodones NM. Surrounded by family and a few close friends, she married her sweetheart in a candlelight ceremony in a nearly 200 year old chapel. Our hosts,Cynthia and Spence, were wonderful! Every...

Hacienda Vargas was a relaxing two night break on a Minnesota to Phoenix road trip. Great location to explore busy Santa Fe as well as quieter Los Alamos, of Atomic bomb fame, and peaceful Bandelier National Monument. Spence made us welcome and gave us some history as well as cooking two breakfasts that can hold you for the whole day....

I first stayed at Hacienda Vargas in 1993. It was part of a road trip from California. An acquaintance gave me a brochure that used the line "magic in the Land of Enchantment!" Though I assumed it was "marketing exaggeration", I booked a reservation because of its proximity to both Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Boy, was I wrong! It was...

Our visit to the hacienda was both seeped in history and welcoming. The inn keeper was very gracious. He took time to explain the origin and the surrounding country side. He answered any questions we had as well. I think the attached photos show some of the highlights such as the authentic adobe walls, portals, antiques and picturesque courtyard. A...

Do not stay at this horrible place. They over-charge. They tack on fees for no apparent reason, their mutts are not controlled, there are bugs everywhere inside the rooms, in the beds and god knows what those black things are in the horrible pumpkin pancakes! The old man is creepy and roams around outside our windows and night. The innkeepers...

We always try to thank actual guests for feedback, learn from it and use it to improve ourselves and the property. Sometimes, things do go wrong and need to be fixed. Neither seem to apply in your situation. If you feel you were lied to or had extra fees added to your stay, please contact us directly to be resolved....

Imagine staying in a museum after everyone else has left, stepping back in time to a simpler pace. This is the experience we had-magical. We also had a very good mattress, a fireplace that worked with the flip of a switch, and a jacuzzi tub to soak off our travels. Very enjoyable bed and breakfast.

My husband and I stayed here and loved it. A very unique and historical site and a nice chance to stay outside of the city, but at the same time a very short drive away. The room was very comfortable, Spence was very accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again.

I was a part of a wedding party that had their reception at this venue. I would highly recommend brides-to-be to exhaust all other options prior to picking this location. First, the staff was extremely rude. They told all guests staying at the B&B that we are NOT allowed to let anyone into our room, not even to use the...
