We loved the Secret Garden. Yes, there was building work going on but it did not bother us one iota. This is a jewel in Kochi and deserves to be better known. Thora, the owner, is a fount of knowledge. Her team of staff are friendly, hospitable and go out of their way to ensure your stay is comfortable. We... More

We were pretty happy with our stay at The Secret Garden. Our room was small, but had good a/c. There was a 4-poster bed with mosquito netting. The bathroom was large, but as the shower has nothing to stop it splashing everywhere, the entire floor got soaked when we used it :(. The place was distressingly noisy during the day,... More

The Secret Garden is tucked away in the backstreets of Fort Cochin and well worth a visit. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and beautifully presented. Although there is no full restaurant service available, breakfast was delicious especially the 'Indian breakfast'. The hotel is a short walk from a couple of excellent restaurants, so evening meals are no problem. Unfortunately,... More

This was our first proper stop in Kerala after getting off the train from Chennai and we arrived early in the morning. We were welcomed, given breakfast and shown our rooms as soon as was possible and we are very grateful for that! Our room was stunning and enormous. The veranda and all of the architecture was amazing. Thora, the... More

We stay at the secret just before going back to europe, we were already use to the kindness of people in india, but this place is like a jewellery; hide in kochi, everything is thought with love and intelligence. it was so hard to leave this place...

The Secret Garden was our oasis and we loved every minute! Pool, atmosphere, beautiful veranda and our favourite double daybed with mural was stunning. Loved the robes and the easy walking to restaurants etc. Staff were great, Thora wasn't there at the time. Was offered eggs for brekkie as I couldn't eat bread which was good and the morning pineapple... More

Stylish but not snobish and very reasonnably priced for what you get in term of comfort and service in this top mid range category. I liked the fact that Secret Garden is a little bit away from the tourist zone (10 mn walk) in a nice and green neighbourhood which is safe at night. The heritage decoration is cool and... More

I could repeat every word from reviewer KateC. We also stayed there on our first three nights in India. We wanted a calm, relaxing place to get over jet lag and long flights - it's about 11 hours from Toronto to Abu Dhabi and then another 4 or so from UAE to Kochi. Restful recuperation in an interesting locale is... More

We enjoyed every hour in this lovely small guesthouse. The breakfast buffet (fresh pressed juce, home-made jam, home-made bread, cereal with a big variety of fresh fruits, pan cakes) was excellent. Even we have been the only guests at that time, they made everyting freshly every morning. The stuff is extremly friendly and helpful. As it was very hot we... More

This is definitely worth the slightly higher price than other hotels in the area. We stayed here for our first three nights in India, and it was lovely to relax and have the time to acclimatise in such beautiful surroundings. We were picked up from the airport, and so no worries with finding it, although it is so secluded that... More
