We dined with our friends here on our final night in Kochi. With our first steps into rhe lobby, the green oasis courtyard and white walls creates an impressive contrast. The high ceilings in the dining room and dark woodwork made a wonderful architectural statement. Although this hotel was built 6-7 years ago, the owners have done an amazing job...

We stayed with 4 and took a suite with sea view with a connecting room which was very spacious and gave the impression you had your own apartment. Vie on the pool and the busy harbor which is great to stare at and contemplate life. Four poster beds and "colonial" interiors, all very original and elegant. The food is the...

Bruntons boatyard hotel has to be one of the nicest colonial style hotels India has to offer resting on the banks of the buselling Fort Chochi the hotel offers a haven of calm and tranquility whilst the town gets on with its daily business. As with many of the hotels in India the quality of food and service is excellent,...

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our cycling tour and very much enjoyed the luxury and charm this hotel had to offer. Though in immaculate condition the hotel building is steeped in history and its position overlooking the Kochi waterways accentuates the links with the past. Sitting on our balcony watching the life of the river...

Nearly a great hotel, but not quite. Perhaps our expectations from other Indian hotels were set too high but there are so many really good things about the hotel it seems a pity. That said we did enjoy our stay here. Our room was fabulous, very well appointed with great views across the harbour; the bed was one of, if...

Brunton Boatyard is just amazing. The property is beautiful- oriental with a touch of contemporary. the large tree in one corner of lawn is a sight and a beauty that can be captured only in life. No 'photo' could do justice. We were blessed to get room that was facing the harbour. Siting and watching the movements of the large...

A truly amazing hotel set in a fishing boat yard. The staff was on hand 24-7 extremely helpful the rooms are very clean. The swimming pool is a great area to get your tan on and drink a few beers in the afternoon. The big cargo ships are noisy but the sunset is stunning at the end of the day....

We came for a quiet dinner and we're blown away by the quality of the food. Far superior to anything else in Cochin, the most unusual pork dishes, beautifully presented and fabulous medley of soups. Plus banana ice cream to die for. And the price was less than some others I won't mention. We'll be back...!

This was to be a week of relaxation with light tourism only and Brunton Boatyard did not disappoint. My wife and I have been there before and love the quiet robust architectural courtyard just off the busy street that is close to the old town. There is a fine ‘rain tree’ (Albizia saman), one of many brought in by the...
