Stayed here (Tulip room) for a weekend getaway and would highly recommend this hotel. The grounds / courtyard are breathtaking and the staff was very helpful. They helped coordinate a backwater canal tour for us as well as caught a lizard / frog who had made their way into our room (not a huge issue; the bathroom / shower open... More

We arrived after a long ad trying drive. As soon as we walked through the door we could relax. The staff are efficient and friendly, and the room was very comfortable. Food excellent. Perfect location in the town. Unable to find any negative points.

The Old Harbour Hotel does not simply provide accommodation but a unique experience. The hotel itself is an elegantly restored old house and the garden with its pool is a lovely place to relax in after the heat of the day. But best of all is the wonderful personal service. I loved the jasmine petals that were sprinkled on the... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in late September 2012 in a Suite. Hotel is "boutique" in style, and the staff goes out of their way to provide excellent service. Staff was very accommodating to our early arrival, and was helpful in booking a day excursion to Munnar hill station (a must-do just outside of Cochin). Overall, this small hotel is... More

We stayed for 5 days at the Old Harbour and had a wonderfully relaxing time. The building, an old merchants house I suppose, is truly lovely with high ceilings. verandahs, a pretty internal courtyard with a fountain and huge-planked wooden floors. It has been restored in excellent taste with charming antique furniture, modern pictures, comfortable beds and no "bling"! There... More

This was our first stop in Kerala. The hotel is well located and close to the chinese fishing nets which are famous in Cochin. It is beautiful and immaculately clean and the staff is very friendly. It's a renovated old colonial house with individually decorated rooms. The pool is very nice and I recommend the yoga every morning

4 of us spent 2 nights in this great hotel right next to the chinese fishing nets - great food, breakfast, rooms and staff - free wifi too! We also visited the Kathitika show as well for an insite into local culture

Two of us spent seven days here and from the first day (arriving late, waking the manager, tripping over the security guard) we just loved the room (spacious, flowers on the bed each night, a courtyard to listen to the water fountain and sit and relax), the surrounds (even though the pool was not in working order (well it was... The hotel is located in a very beautiful and old Portuguese building in the middle of Fort Cochin. The staff was very nice, the dinner food was equally delicious with local Kerala music to accompany the meal. The room was simple but very accommodating and the pool was super inviting :)

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the heart of ancient Fort Cochin, Kerala, a place that exudes history and culture, is the 'Old Harbour Hotel'. A 300 year- old building that has for long been a heritage monument of this town, now reopened as a boutique hotel. Built in the Dutch style of architecture with hints of Portuguese influences, it was the first hotel of old Cochin. Later it remained a residential home to employees of English Tea broking firms until it was left unused for a period of time. ... more   less
