We had a bit fiery welcome due to miscommunication but soon air got settled with intervention of family members! The best part of the property is plantation walk and everyone loved it. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and our group of 13+2 had a good time. Only change i wish is to extend check-out time which is before 10AM.

WE were on a tour organised by Citrus Holdays in the UK. We received a very warm welcome from the owner of the Homestead (Ziriac) on arrival and shown to our lovely rooms where we stayed for two nights. A most enjoyable stay, very handy for a visit to the the Tiger Reserve at Periyar and we also enjoyed the...

We recently spent a couple of nights here. The owner is very proud to take you round his property and explain the spices growing. Our room was in a new block, very spacious airy and modern with a balcony overlooking the plantation. It's a personal view, but I think showcasing the spices grown on the plantation in the evening meal...

Very good rooms with personal balcony fitted with chairs and a table looking down into the valley. A great place to bird watch. Rooms are very clean and comfortable with tiled floor, en suite (great walk-in shower), TV, fan (no A/C), tea/coffee making facilities. This is a home-stay where guests stay in an adjacent building with four guest suites and...

After 2 nights at Pepper County we wish we could stay longer! Cyriac and Dolly (the owners) are exceptionally welcoming and the property is lovely. On arrival we were shown to our room which was a spacious double with large en suite (with a very good powerful shower) which opened up onto a balcony overlooking a wooded area. The room...

Haven of peace and tranquility. Well kept grounds and property. Spacious, clean, comfortable room with balcony and windows looking out on tropical forest. Best bathroom we encountered. Owner and staff friendly, helpful and informative. Breakfast and dinner varied and excellent in every way.

We stayed here for two nights whilst on a touring holiday organised by Citrus Travel. I wasn't aware of the popularity of the 'homestay' style accommodation but would certainly recommend it based on this experience. Pepper County is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The house we stayed in is the one pictured. the grounds are a mixture of pepper trees...

We were booked into a “Homestay” called Pepper County. Homestays in India originated in Kerala and have caught on in a big way. Pepper County was good but not exactly what we expected. Set up by families who want to generate additional income, they are effectively upmarket B & Bs. In Indian terms a homestay is staying AT someone’s home,...

All in all it was a lovely stay, the room is very nice and very clean, breakfast is included and they offer dinner as well. To be honest, we did not ask for the price, which was our own fault. Just because it was easier, as the homestay is a bit outside of everything, we ate dinner in the homestay...

Certainly a lot of time and effort has gone into creating this homestay; it is bigger than we expected, with an annexe also, and very clean, and comfortable. Cyriac was a very attentive host. The down-side is that it feels less like a homestay and more like a small hotel; both are fine, but if it's a traditional homestay you're...
