I loved everything about this hotel. The staff were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. I loved the tour of the grounds with the naturalist, and the cooking demonstrations. The rooms were lovely. I loved the eco-theme throughout. The food was delicious. I would have loved to have stayed longer. Highly recommended. One of the best hotels I stayed in during my...

Very well managed resort with healthy strategy. Spatious, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Delicious organic food on haute cuisine level. No television as part of philosophy is ok for me. Major disadvantage however is the very weak Wifi system.

First, my rating here only represent the value for money and not the review about the hotel property itself. I stayed there for one night and had a mixed kind of experience. The property is very nice; no doubt about that. You really feel here close to nature with trees, plants, birds etc. The rooms are ethnic and the "Chabootra"...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are bit confused on the comment on pricing the buffet rate for children. Cannot imagine charging half rate for 1 year old child. Definitely it might have happened because of some miscommunication. Anyway I apologize for the issue and will make sure these kind of misunderstanding never occurs in future. We always...

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in the middle of a tour around Kerala. The grounds and rooms are excellent but what made our stay fantastic was the excellent service. In particular I would like to mention the server Manu whose level of professionalism, passion for service, and wonderful demeanour was exemplary. I have stayed in hundreds of...

As the name suggests, it was very Spicy experience of my recent trip to Kerala. The whole Village is full of different Indian Spice Trees and paradise for a Spice Lover. You feel rejuvenated in such a fantastic natural surroundings.Spend time, take morning Walk, do Yoga, relax after a stormy Ayurveda session and good Food. While in Thekkady take river...

Also, they have a beautiful kitchen garden or rather farm. The staff is well trained and humble. The evening activities are good. in short there is no chance...

Just beautiful from arrival until departure. Staff are very pleasant, the grounds are magnificent. Rooms are quite simple but tastefully done and the bathroom products are excellent. We wish we had spent another night here to enjoy all this place has to offer.

We did not realise what a wonderful place this was until we arrived. The rooms are all cottages spread around the site which can be some distance from the main buildings and when raining can be a problem getting around - although they do provide umbrellas in all the cottages for such eventualities. Being somewhat out in the nature reserve...

Back for my second visit to Thekkady and Spice Village and the staff remembered me from 2 years previous and welcomed me HOME again. I toured the extensive organic gardens, enjoyed a cooking demo and attended yoga. Loved my cozy clean cottage, the cardamom tea and the grounds which are so beautifully kept. I highly recommend the CGH Earth Experience...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Spice Village is an eco resort in the hills(thekkady) near the Periyar wildlife sanctuary. A cluster of tribal style huts set in a beautiful spice garden is a great escape for most tourists from the heat of the plains, and also a great place for some adventure activities. We have a comfortable pool, an ayurvedic spa, we organise treks into the forest, bamboo rafting and many more. A walk through the property itself is a great way to explore many aspects of nature and the green initiatives undertaken at this eco resort. ... more   less
