Mummy Bamboo was the first place I bumped into after escaping from an annoying commission tuk-tuk driver and it was a great stroke of luck. I paid 500R for a clean modern room with a fab en suite with piping hot shower. Attractive balcony with hammock and efficient wifi. Sandeep was very friendly where nothing was too much trouble. My...

First of all, Thanks to Altaf for referring to this place. We came from Vatakanal to Varkala at 8:30 at night. Met Aunty who treated us like her own children. Very friendly. The place is peaceful and hardly 20 mtrs walk from cliff beach of Varkala. Over all mast.. chill..

We really enjoyed our time at Mummys Bamboo House. We stayed there for 10 days and would have loved to stay longer with Rani and her family. She is a very kind and friendly host. The room was clean, the bathroom was good, a hammok on the balcony, what do you want more? We will definately come back!

Very clean and beautiful rooms, the whole building is very well maintained. Wifi, hot water, room cleaning, drinking water supplied to the room, good beds. Upper rooms w/o AC but lots of windows, so at night nice and well aired. Great for single traveling ladies also, very safe. Seconds from the cliff, yet very quite and peaceful. Great upper rooms...

Beautiful room, with balcony and a hammock. Hot water shower. Cheap, good service, and only 1min walk to the beach. Perfect location if you want to travel around Kerala and come back in a more quite area close to restaurants and the sea.

The mummy is one of those places that you could easily miss if you don't keep your eyes peeled, not because of its size or location but due to its understated simplicity. Varkala itself is a must visit for tourists looking to unwind with some sand and sun. The shore line is gorgeous and full of character, especially further north...

Cons: It took us a while to find the place. Pros: Its close to cliff , barely 2-3 min walk, hence close to the cliff side eateries and massage centres. Like almost all the houses they have hammocks, which are fun. The place is clean and decent. But expect basic stuff, nothing fancy about this place. We didn't expect much...

We stayed at this place for 2 nights and it was very good.. Very near to the cliff, it provided very good value for money for the entire group. Highly recommended place. It might be a bit difficult to locate the place at night, but I would recommend taking the location from the caretaker via google maps is the best...
