Kaiya House was recommended to us by passing travellers and it more than lived up to its reputation as the number one place to stay in Varkala. From the time the lovely Debra greeted us at the door and showed us around her beautifully decorated home, to the one hour introductory walk of the town, to a magical three hour...

We did have a great time that week. Thank you so much for choosing us due to my previous guests telling you about Kaiya House. I hope the rest of your travels were fabulous and perhaps we'll meet again. I always hope for that!

Kaiya House is one of the best places I have stayed in the world. The rooms are unique and very well decorated and the location is close to the beaches and temples but also quiet. The best part of the house though is the atmosphere. The owner Debra and her staff will do anything to make your stay wonderful, from...

Debra and Kaiya House were such a lucky find on my first trip to India. I was delayed two days because of airline woes and Debra was exceptionally understanding and reassuring as we stayed in contact via email. Once I arrived, her personal introduction to Varkala was so helpful to understand the town and get a lay of the land....

It was a pleasure having you stay and I'm happy that in the end you didn't lose too much time due to delayed flights. I hope the rest of your time in India was a marvelous adventure. Thank you so much for taking the time to write your lovely review for us.

We certainly agree with all of the positive comments that previous reviewers have made. Indeed, it's pretty much impossible to add anything new. Debra, Heman, and Babachee work very hard at creating a welcoming and relaxing ambience that makes you feel like you're staying in your own home. But at the same time, the personal attention coupled with the fact...

I cannot recommend Kaiya House enough - Debra and the team make you feel very welcome from the moment you walk through the door. I feel at home when staying at Kaiya house, this was my second stay and it was as good as the first. The location is ideal, as it is a short walk from the cliff and...

After a busy week of travel arriving at Kaiya house felt like arriving home and when it came to it we certainly didn't want to leave. Debra offered us such a warm welcome which continued during the length of our stay. The house itself is beautiful and the rooms are full of character and very comfortable. If you are travelling...

We are a mid 30's couple from Hackney in East London who travelled through Kerala on our honeymoon. We spent the entire trip seeking out authenticity and searching for special experiences that would help us really feel true India. We ended our trip in Varkala with Debra and found exactly what we were looking for at Kaiya House. It strikes...

Reading though the existing reviews of Kaiya House on Tripadvisor, it's difficult to say something glowing that hasn't already been said. But its place as the number one hotel in Varkala is entirely justified, due to the amount of hard work Debra puts in to make her guests feel at home. She's there to welcome you when you arrive and...

My time at Kaiya house was amazing. Deb, the owner, made us feel instantly comfortable and at home; it's not an exaggeration to say I've never felt as comfortable staying somewhere that was not the home of a friend or family. Her staff were likewise lovely and very welcoming. The room I was in was simple but very comfortable and...

Right when you walk into the door you know you have come to a special place. Debra graciously greets you and gets you settled into your room.
