Myself and my partner had been travelling around Kerala and decided to spend the last few days in Varkala for a bit of a chill out. We decided upon Kaiya House due to the other very good reviews and we were so glad that we did. We were met by Debra, the owner of the guest house, and were immediately...

Thank you so much! You two brought major laughter to the rooftop and I'll never look at a bat in the same way again! Love your drawing. Who knows, maybe another Kaiya House comes to London party this summer!

We were travelin around the southern of India. When we arrived at Kaiya House it was like an oasis of peace, tranquility and pleasure. Debra makes you feel like you are at home with her kindness and attention towards the guests. Rooms are elegant, spotless and very nice....definitely a home in India. Thanks for all, Debra.

I could write a small book about our experience at Kaiya house...it literally was like a dream. After my husband and I had been travelling for our honeymoon around Kerala, we came across Debra's B&B except she wasn't due to open her place until the week after but she offered to have tea with us and find us a suitable...

Aw, thank you so much! And by the way, I was absolutely right about your stay starting my season with "good luck!" It's been wonderful with so many lovely people passing thru my door! I really hope we meet again either here or London...and thank you for your first ever trip advisor review!

We had booked our room at Kaiya house without hesitating a minute after having read all the great reviews on TripAdvisor. Expectations were high, although not very concrete. So when we arrived, we asked ourselves: 'why have we chosen Kaiya house and has it been the right choice?' After the first twenty-four hours, the answer was clear. We couldn't have...

Thank you so much, it was lovely to have you two here and so nice to keep in touch, love getting the updates. I hope your plans to come back to Varkala happen sometime in the next year. It would be great to share more stories.

I stayed at Debra's Kaya House last February. The guesthouse is a beautiful two floors villa, set on the edge of tropical jungle gardens, of real Western standards, very clean and tidy all throughout. All the rooms and hallways and reception areas are filled with amazing old arts pieces, paintings, prints, sculptures and textiles, and you feel like living in...

It was so nice to have you here at the beginning of your new life adventure. Thank you also for leaving your beautiful drawings, so many people have enjoyed them. I hope wherever you are you're having a wonderful time and perhaps we'll meet again which would be lovely. Maybe some art lessons for me?

I stayed at Kaiya House in January 2013. It was my first time in India. From the moment we arrived at 4am Debra was waiting in person with her lovely smile to greet us, it felt like staying with my family. Debra is so amazing, she is warm and friendly and cannot help you enough. The Kaiya house team are...

Thank you so much for your lovely words. I'm so happy to know you enjoyed your stay and it's still on your mind after a gap from being here. I hope we meet again sometime, somewhere.

The reviews on Trip Advisor were just so good that we left our lovely cottage by the sea in Varkala to spend a couple of nights here. Whilst India is full of lovely hotels, often they are rather sterile and it is rare to find somewhere where you meet and chat to all the other guests like you do here....

It was so nice to meet you two and as often happens, my only regret about your visit was it would have been nice to have you here a few more days. Thank you for your appreciation of our guest book and for putting in your lovely entry. Happy future travels and I hope we meet again.

Rustic yet characterful would be how I would describe Kaiya House. Owner/proprietor Debra makes all the the difference as compared to other lodging options, as she's is always accommodating and helpful. It may not be right on the cliff, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. A stay at Kaiya House starts off with a quick walking tour of the...

Thank you so much, I'm really happy you stayed with us and as is this case often with wonderful guests that pass thru my door, I only wish you would have had more time. Absolutely loved your amazing photography, so happy to see those photos that have inspired me to take photos of small, small creatures as well!

I rarely find accommodation with this number of consistently good reviews however with the welcome i received i can see why Kaiya house has achieved this status. I was made feel at home as soon as i arrived by Debra and her staff and was given an excellent tour of the area which made exploring easier for my short trip....

Debra and her team provide a level of service I have not received anywhere else other than with close friends and family. To stay at Kaiya House was like visiting old friends, they made my husband and I feel completely at home from the very first phone call, to the subsequent 2 when I had to alter the booking. Debra...
