We've stayed at the Sha Villa for a week or so. Quiet and peaceful place, basic and spotless clean (thanks Monika). Actually, I think the best to stay place around Varkala. Perfect homemade food at the main family run AsinMomo guesthouse, friendly and helpful. :) Some small beaches around and away from the hustle and tourists of Varkala and just... More

We'd actually stayed at Sha Villa, which is a partner of Aisnmomo and practically next door. Beautiful location looking at the beach and very quite and relaxing place. Make sure you carry a torch with you as there are no streets lights anywhere (that's what makes the location even more better). It's an hour walk to Varkala from here along... More

A quite place very close to the cliffs and away from the tourist hustle of Varkala. The rooms are very simple but it is a local family home and with that comes India noise. I felt it was overpriced and not particularly good value for money as is the rest of Varkala .

This is a typical Indian family home and the rooms reflect that. No hot water and very basic. Hard mattress but good WiFi. They also rent scooters. If you halved the price I'd say it was average value. The family are nice and friendly and it generally had a good feeling. Varkala is generally a tourist rip off even compared... More

After a tough stay at an Ayurvedic centre, I wanted to relax and do some writing. Asinmomo has just 3 letting rooms. The staff are charming and serve up some delicious, basic Kerala dishes. There's a cool verandah, a short stroll to the beach, and a lack of other tourists in the immediate vicinity (apart from the other two rooms!)... More

I found this home stay quite by accident through another place and a lovely helpful lady called Monika. Tucked away behind a temple and a few seconds walk to the sea, away from the main Varkala area so a real feel of an Indian village. The family are very friendly and hospitable. Must be as one guy had been there... More

Wonderful family, beautiful stretch of coastline. Happy to accommodate late night returners (within reason with prior warning etc). No problem to let you use the kitchen (I was the juice king!). Been here twice in the last two years and quite frankly find it very difficult to leave. This is the genuine Indian experience your looking for people. Jessini and... More

Spent 10 days staying with here, with the adorable Muslim fishing family, next to almost deserted beaches (except when the fishermen are working them) away from the hustle and bustle of the main Cliff area and it was exactly what I needed! Don't think I could have stayed up in the noise of the restaurants and shop keepers constantly pestering... More

We stayed in AsinMomo homestay in our first week in Indiai and Until now it was the best place ever! Its about 30 min walking to the cliff so you can find the peace and beatiful beaches far away of crowded places as the cliff, but if you want to go there its just 30 min walking! The family is...
