We stayed three nights at Shanti House and we had a great experience. The family is very welcoming and the city tour with Gouri was great - we learnt a lot about India. In the evenings the guest come together on the little rooftop terrasse to eat great food and to chat for a while. It was all very familiar...

My partner and I booked shanti house as we wanted very budget accommodation in the old city. We had a free pick up from the station despite it being very early in the morning. Staying at shanty house means experiencing living with this lovely family in their home. Our room was basic as we would have expected for this price,...

When you enter Shanti House, the owners welcome you not to their hostel, but to their home. You have the privacy and comfort of a hostel in your room, and the benefits of a family visit on the rooftop terrace. They are very warm, welcoming and accommodating. The husband knows about great local restaurants and can help arrange camel safaris...

As many other review have said, Gouri and his family are very welcoming and kind people and you will feel very 'at home' there. Gouri took us early in the morning on his motorcycle to get some traditional Bikaner food and offered...

Highly recommended, if you're interested in real-life Bikaner! Gouri and his wife are very welcoming and kind people, they make you feel at home in their tiny & cosy haveli, with small but nice rooms, and a cute, lovely rooftop. Gouri is an excellent guide who worked with professional photographers, and he can introduce you to the old city, to...

Shanti guest house was a fantastic place to stay! The house is uniquely decorated with painted murals left by previous guests and old-timey/retro nik naks (Such as an antique embroidered vest and an old fashioned record player). All of this lends the place a very homey feel and makes staying here a pleasure, as you can't get bored with the...

We had a wonderful time staying in this very welcoming family in Bikaner. Gouri the owner was extremely helpful in keeping us busy around the city, showing us all the sights, explaining many things about the local people and culture, and being informative concerning logistics and other travel matters. The house is small and pretty the rooftop has good views...
