we rented a deluxe.. rooms are decently furnished with comfortable bed, diwan and sofa.. well spaced out.. occupying a portion of top floor.. I would recommend this to the suites below... its breezy and well lit with sunshine through the day.. you get to enjoy the lounge as well in the common area... improvements for the team - shower has little pressure and hot water is not fully effective..
food is wonderful.. at least for the period of our stay.. with chef Christie around.. food is usually made to order (even buffet they would ask your choice within select items).. typically south indian cuisine.. other cuisines are made to order.. meat is available on prior request..
enjoy the sunset with a campfire overlooking the estate..
staff are very courteous.. and excited to serve you.. yes.. they were wonderful being around till we dropped out midnight post the campfire....
make sure you take out at least 2 nights 3 days to see around.. and additional 1 or 2 days if you want to enjoy trekking..
note : Ooty weather is much better and colder than coonoor.. and will require less travel to tourist spots as well..
Spoke to the Owner and he told me that his regular staff had quit due to health issues. And the staff he had now was to help him tide over the peak season (Apr-May 2014).
Plus : Large room, location was about 2-3 km from Sims park.
Minus : Flies, lizards, Food, staff, service.
The staff is quite friendly and will customise the food as per your requirements, you just need to tell them in advance. The place is little far from main city but somehow we managed to find autos for transport else you can always tell the caretakers and he will help to arrange a taxi or auto.
The place is nature friendly so if you wake up early, you get to spot the horses and bison roaming around. There is also a shop nearby for some of the finest quality tea and home made chocolates which coonoor is famous for.
Good location, big and decent rooms with lots of space around.
Quiet and peace, away from the main rush, even during the holiday season.
Cons:
Poor maintenance of the room, neglected.
Owner too busy to consider the needs of the costumers.
The Manager Mr.LAWRENCE was very kind and helpful,He will also arrange whatever we want
Accommodation: I didn't stay there but checked out the rooms. All are spacious with clean and fully functional bathrooms.
Food: Good.
Grounds: This resort has a goat farm, horse riding center, 7 hole golf grounds and good view of the DSSC in Wellington.
Will recommend to friends who want a nice quiet holiday
