You know how, just like some people, some places tug your heartstrings in a happy way and become your go-to destination when you want peace. There is no planning needed, no itinerary, no expectations, or attractions - all you need is 1 available room. Sunvalley is that place for me and my family. It's a literal "getaway". A place that has now started to feel like 2nd home so much so that even after my 7th visit, i am not done with it and neither is my family (glad). I first went here in 2018 and after 6yrs I find people to be more welcoming, more accommodating and more respectful. Like always, no stone is left unturned n there is never a "no, we cant do it" from the staff. From the surprise welcome gift this time to the amazing 3 nights full of good people, great hospitality, amazing food, smiling faces and the shades of calming green all around, everything was perfect. My 4 y.o. boy fell in love with the place too n i did not have to put an effort to take him around, he just loved the vibe i guess. Of course Alex and Soni were quite the charmers but I can't think of even one person who doesn't go out of their way to make your day. Sunvalley has gained popularity over the years but is even more likable now because the core belief of everyone here remains unchanged and that is to give you the best time. The personal touch by the Sunvalley fleet to your needs makes you feel at home. The conversations abt you, your family, them, their family next to the bonfire are heartwarming. Every corner has its own beauty. At Sunvalley I have a favorite room, a favorite tea spot, a favorite breakfast table, a favorite lunch spot, a favorite bbq spot n a favorite dinner spot. I can go on n on. Here's hoping i get to make more trips cos finding and soaking in peace comes organically at Sunvalley!

We stayed for 3 nights in sunvalley resort, already stayed once for 2 days. It's great time my son enjoyed a lot, they helped me to finish our trip as memorable one.
Conoor is my favourite 5th time visiting. But sunvalley it's 2nd time.
Prons:
We went early on 1st day accomodations was given for 5 hours with an extra charge, they helped us to get ready . Around 2 o clock we checked in our room ,
We miss that doggy 🐕
24 hours hot water Clean bathroom Room location is awesome Well maintained garden Tea stall never miss Break fast was perfect my son loves that sambar Room service we give key, they use to clean it. Safety was good enough Umbrella in each block so we can enjoy rain Mini kitchen. Longue Badminton court Parking area Driver a accomodations & food Helpers Spa never miss Tea estate Water they gave for drinking is awesome
We celebrated our (belated) 10th wedding Anniversary , they prepared cake on my request.
My suggestion to give more space for kids room , required more play items.hope I haven't missed anything.
I suggested my friends & relatives to make at least a trip for 2 days.
Hope to make a stay in future in sunvalley.

We as family (3 of us with kid) stayed here 4 nights, had a pleasant and comfortable stay. Room was very clean including the rest room. Our room had small kitchen attached with induction stove and minimum utensils that helped when we stayed inside the room for most part of the day (again very clean). Their food was too good and they customised as per our ask, we had almost all meals in their restuarant and it was very pleasant/safe food during these times. Location is admist the tea plantation, view from the room was senic. Out of all, their service is the best and almost all them were very friendly and ready to support where ever possible including the chefs (especially sharath, babu and alok). It was a comfortbale stay during this covid times, would definitely visit again.

This Home stay is well maintained and located at the edge of hill . From the rooms u have a nice spread of Valley combined with tea estate. Rooms are spacious, well lit, airy and open to the valley. The suite alloted to us was just 100 meters away from main hotel. They have a kitchen, where they provide tasty, delicious, mouth watering nadan foods. They arrange for a Jeep Safari for a cost around tea plantation which is really enjoyable.Shabin, who accompanied us was enthusiastic and given lot of suggestions in taking the photographs and selecting right location for snaps. Dinesh made the online bookings and selection of rooms in a smooth way and we know that our room is 100 meters away from main hotel from Chennai itself and I could meet him only on the date of departure. Sarath was taking care of everything in the hotel including restaurant. Chefs in the mother's recipe are not to be missed out. They made tasty, healthy, mouth watering dishes. Since we had made the visit during covid, there was no recreation centre. Shuttle court was there but was not operational due to covid. Last 200 meters to reach the sunvalley was narrow and steep..Break fast was complimentary and it was really good. So Nice experience and if u want a serene place and want to have some days off, THIS is the home away from Home with food of mother's touch and cordial friends. So awaiting for one more trip after everything settled down around us.

Definitely select this resort if you are on a trip to coonoor. No second thoughts about it. I could find nothing to write in cons, so there are only pros in my review.
The management is excellent, the entire team deserves a kudos. Specially deserved mention for Mr Babu, Mr Alok, Ms Renu and head chef Sujana. Besides them, the entire restaurant team was so efficient and helpful that really made our stay very comfortable. Car rent facilities were arranged immediately, they have their own cars too that took us for the mudumalai sightseeing and the driver was a really nice and helpful person. Any concern or request was addressed in a jiffy. The place runs like a very well oiled machine.
Reviewing each aspect separately:
Room: Cleanliness was A grade. The housekeeping team did a great job everyday. Towels, sheets all spotless and the room was spick and span. It was very spacious, all amenities mentioned were honored. The view was breathtaking. Coonoor itself is a very clean and amazingly beautiful place so the tea garden that the room overlooked was just a part of coonoor's awesomeness. Running hot water was available all the time, no boiler system thank God! Room service was very quick and efficient.
Resort area: The grounds are very lush and beautiful full of very pretty flowers. There are sports options for badminton, cricket, cycling. Trekking in the adjoining tea garden is a wonderful add on. There is bonfire every night with music. There is a kids zone, fuse ball , carrom and a good stock of books for one to borrow and read.
Food: The breakfast was sumptuous and had lots of South Indian options. There was one North Indian dish everyday as well along with bread toast and eggs and fruits. The food was tasty and light just like home cooked food which was a blessing for me since we don't like food bathed in oil. The chefs made special food for me exactly as per my health restrictions and I shall be forever grateful for that since very few hotels can do this. I got to eat aloo gobi, dal and mix veg exactly the way I wanted for my health purpose. The whole restaurant staff was very helpful and supportive in making sure that I could eat without any problems.
Overall, kids and me and my husband enjoyed the whole trip very much and it will go down in memory lane as one of the best trips we ever had. This was largely due to this resort and therefore a BIG thank you to all of you and wish you the very best.

Booked this sunvalley homely resort directly after called direct reservation number which they have mentioned in website, after mailed the team sunvalley reservation promptly replied n gave us very reasonable price for family valley tea garden view than other online portals rates which was more than 20 percent difference of their portals commission rates. After surfed portals n booked directly to the Sunvalley resort by making the advance payment.As everybody said , approach road last 200 metres quite difficult as you are drive in hill station as very first time. But its thrill to enter till resort.but truly once u enter , the picture completely changed n it lol gives such a out of world experience thru spectacular view and welcoming smile staffs who all receiving us.They way did the check ins as welcoming homely feel to our return our own after many years from somewhere. Personally touched those moment.Room in a balcony till ur eyesight covers 360d tea garden views. We had a estate morning walk nearly two hours.Facilities like bon fire , barbeque, kerala ayurvedic traditional massage , gym, scenic tea plantation highway road ride in jeep which made our holidays so so elegant. They have a setup called urban cave , evening time can go and boost ourself thru cocktail, mocktail n world class delicious juices etc.Last but not least, restaurant which situated in mid of the tea garden where three sides facing awesome breathtaking tea garden views while having food n enjoy. As per the other reviews, food s topnotch as its homely fresh prepare food. Breakfast s one of the best and best.. Restaurant team boys serve like our home members as they kept restaurant title name called "MOTHERS RECIPE". Must try during lunch their fish curry meals which s so yummy and their spl chef dish called Fish manchurian and all Chinese stuffs. Kudos to team of restaurant and chefs.overall we had a extraordinary three days after utilised all those facilities. Thanks to sunvalley team and management for maintaining ur standards as well which wins and exceed our expectation's. We double recommend this amazing stunning property to everyone as our level best. We had visited this homestay during 24th to 28th of December,2019. The place is so beautifullly maintained. The quality of food is excellent. Specially the piping hot idly with the chutney and the aromatic pongal rice was worth savouring. The food is served with such warmth and care that one would feel like going back again and again. The place is well maintained with flowers adorning the gardens. A nice tea garden view from the rooms. One can take a walk in the tea garden. There are provisions of the tour of the estate which is quite enjoyable. There are other facilities which one should come and discover. Simply said it has been quite a rejuvenating experience for us. My only lament is that instead of booking directly we had booked through an online agency which has charged us exorbitantly. Though from the Coonoor Station it is only at a distance of 3 km, the last part of the journey is through narrow winding path. There is no problem in taking big cars though. The best part of this resort is the cordial and ever smiling, very efficient staff members. We would love to go back again.

We went towards the end of December for a short two day holiday. We booked this place after reading reviews about covid protocols. The approach to the place is hidden and narrow, but there is plenty of parking space once you reach the hotel. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The restaurant serves tasty food. Special shout out to the chef's for the good food. All the staff are very friendly and ready to help when needed. There is 'herbal' water served in the rooms and restaurant which is very refreshing. Overall a good place for families to stay.

One of the best properties for a peaceful and luxurious vacation in Coonoor/Ooty. Location is absolutely scenic, rooms very comfortable and overlooking vast green valley. Loved the peaceful morning walks with direct access to the property's tea estate. Managers and staff are extremely friendly, courteous and helpful, special thanks to Mr Babu, Mr Raghav, the lady at the welcome reception and staffs of the Mother's recipe restaurant and kitchen. The food served is very hygienic and delicious. They paid special attention to the needs of my one year old baby's food too. The best part of the property is they plan your trip and arrange for sight seeing, bus and train pick and drop etc at very reasonable rates. The chauffers provided by them are very knowledgeable and friendly. In short they have everything under one roof to make your vacation truly amazing and memorable. For those who want to have a good time at a bar, look no further, they even have a nicely set bar nestled in their green space. The bartender Mr Pushpender is an absolute delight to talk. Would definitely want to come back here again time permitting.

I am a guest who stayed here. The hotel should be able to answer your question on availability.
However, do consider Tea Nest - they enjoy a better location.
Food is better at Sun Valley.

Ooty (20 kms from Sunvalley): Botanical garden, lake, wax museum, rose garden,Doddabetta peak.(01 day) - Rs.2000/-( 9.30 am - 5.30 pm)
Coonoor sightseeing (4 km - 15 km from Sunvalley): Sim’s park, Wellington Lake, lamb’s rock, dolphins nose,tea factory. - Rs.1400/- (4 - 5 hrs)
Dear Sir,
Once you enter coonoor, you will find Hyderabadi Biriyani house. Take a right from that signal and keep coming up straight. Its a uphill road and sign boards will be placed on the way. You can also check with any localities to guide you to Stanley park.
There are more places to choose from in the Coonoor area.
