I was travelling from Bangalore to rameswaram via madurai arriving madurai at 7am after an overnight journey and thought why not see the meenakshi temple before proceeding to the final destination. I used this hotel for two hrs just for self and family to carry out morning rituals and bathe and then see the temple and carry on to rameswaram in the afternoon.
It fitted the bill very well. All was done in rs 500 for three of us together with a clean a/c room with clean toilet/bathroom.

We, comprising of two families accommodated in this hotel just for the meager reason of this vicinity to the station. However, the experience turned out to be a good one. WE booked a day prior through online the info of which was not availble to the staff present at the reception in the morning for which we had to wait at the reception for nearly 20 mins but later on it was a smooth ride. The staff was courteous and helped us in each manner. They even booked a taxi (Innova) for local site seeing including temple and Rameshwaram at an affordable price.
Decent property and amenities at an affordable price near the vicinity of railway station proves to be a bonus and comfort for this hotel.

We stayed there for 1 night in a family room. room was big, spacious and the bathroom was clean. The bed wasnt thar comfortable and the bedsheets were not very clean. Staff was very helpful and courteous. manageable for one night stay.

Hotel Rani Mangammal is opposite to Madurai railway station, the hotel is very clean and has good in services, this is the second time we are stating in this hotel. you will have no noise of traffic and near to meenakshi temple 15 min walkable distance.

Stayed for couple of days last week. Very comfortable. Staff, very cordial. Room service ,good. Location, very good- right opp to station and walkable from bus stand and temple. No restaurant but they do very quick room service. Each room has an heater and it's very handy and made our stay very comfortable.

The front desk staff were rude and could not answer any queries about the mode or options for the payment. They were clueless that the booking was done through Tripadvisor and hence were not aware of such a portal for booking their hotel.
The beds and linen were not clean and the room service is pathetic. I'd stay away from this hotel mainly for the illiterate staff manning the front desk and overall guest services.

Good things first: 1. Clean property and Bathrooms 2. Easy to locate - exactly opposite to the madurai railway station 3. value for money for AC rooms 4. just 5 mins walkable distance from Meenakshi temple 5. Lots of restaurants and shops starting from saree to everything in fact its inside the market place i felt 6. towels and complementary soap an shampoo were provided which was a feel good point
Some points for improvement: 1. Noise is too much from the main road but still can be managed if you put fan in full speed 2. rooms are not much spacious its almost like of small lodge

After searching several hotels in the area, a friend and I opted for this hotel because it offered rooms at a decent rate. Rooms are basic. We got the A/C room which was fine. If noise is a issue for you, then this may not be the best hotel for you. WiFi in the lobby worked fine.

We paid 880 Rs for a double without A/C. The rooms are clean, smallish, there is Wi-Fi in the lounge and the staff seem like an affable bunch. It's right next to the road so you might need some earplugs, but other than that for the price it's value for money.
