We stayed at Sherloc with a big group and occupied 3 rooms. The place is quaint and quite charming. Serene view and excellent service. The rooms are decently appointed and have a separate sit outs. The bathrooms are large and clean.
Things I like:
1. Nice Location 2. Beautiful property and Garden 3. Exception service at front desk and all around, special shout out to the Head Chef Mr. Bhatt, Mr. David (Server) & Bala (Manager) 4. We interacted with Mr. Bhatt and he was kind enough to accommodate food orders outside the menu, the breakfast and food generally was very good and you can order as per your preference 5. Overall vibe of the property 6. Very Accommodating staff and management, very well managed property 7. The Front desk can arrange day trips on request 8. You can order fire logs for fire place in room for extra cost
Things that could improve : 1. Approach Road - The last 2kms is narrow road and last 200m to hotel is bumpy and rough 2. The room could be better maintained, it is not bad but could be better, however the service and attitude of the management make up for it 3. The Bed mattress are spring based, again not bad but could improve 4. Parking

To start off,,, SHERLOCK HOMES is a property managed by Little Earth group. It is neatly nestled amidst the Doddabetta hills and hits you with its old charm instantly. We had booked a Mountain view room from 12.02.2021 to 14.02.2021 and believe me the rooms were nicely decked up before we arrived. We had booked a package which included breakfast and diner alongwith Mountain View rooms.
We were greeted by the Manager Mr. Ravi shankar, kudos to him for the nice hospitality and warmth during our stay. Every request of us was attended to with utmost care and warmth. Though they were short on staff but still they were upto the task. Sherlock is more of a laid back place were in you can come and immerse yourself in nature and just relax. The hotel offers Garden view rooms as well, difference being, you get a garden view with this rooms, where as Mountain view gives you a great view of mountains right from your balcony. Food is one area which was just too good, considering i had been to ooty before and tried the food outside. Also the hotel has fixed an upper price of 1300/ room ( between this range) you can order your diner and you wont be charged additionally as it is included in your hotel reservation amount. Do try the Chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce, it was just yumm.
Food takes a bit of time as they prepare it freshly once you order, which is nice and worth the wait.
Atlast will surely like to thank the Hotel Manger Mr. Ravishankar and Mr. Sabrish - House Keeping for making our stay so comfortable. Will surely recommend a stay at Sherlock for family as well as for couples.
Imp Tip- If you are visiting on sunday, do make a point and Visit Leo Cafe which is owned by Little Earth group, Every sunday they organise a Farmers Market which is worth the time spent. Also you can enjoy live music and great food.

I stayed at Sherlock for 3 days and my over all experience of the stay was brilliant. Ranjith was so good in receiving us and staying on top of our needs to ensure that we had a memorable stay. The staff was so good that they never say no to anything that you ask for and that is exactly what we as guests would like to hear.
Over all the place is situated at a beautiful location and the breakfast (complimentary) was very tasty and had lot of varieties. It is a must for anyone who like to get away from the hassle of the city and have peace of mind for few days..
Not to mention, the fire place inside the rooms added an extra touch and very much needed for the climate.
One suggestion is that they should make WiFi available throughout the property and inside the rooms to enable IT people to do a work from home from the property.
Finally, if you are looking for a pet friendly stay, don’t look beyond this as they have a beautiful garden and place to take your pet on a walk around the property..

The rooms don’t do justice to the amount of money we payed per night .. going into 2020, I think the management should up their game. I felt the owners are scrapping the barrel clean without reinvesting on the property. Starting from the road to the property which is very unwelcoming, the rooms and the facilities in it is fine for a 2star accommodation. Hot Water has fixed time, chimneys inside rooms need to be cleaned, no toiletries, additional bed was a home made bed with 3 pieces of cardboard placed together to make a single bed, had to keep reminding staff to renew tv subscription as they did not pay the bills on time. I just did not see value for money
Only pros were the staff, they giving their best but without management’s support they can only go that far. The lawn was well maintained (which is the only reason we stayed there) . Food was just about ok, again not worth the money spent. The photos of the rooms are very deceptive. Sherlock Homes and little earth need to up theirs game, services are not satisfactory

We had booked a room in this property during our family stay in Oct'21
Rooms are spacious and with beautiful views of the garden and garden is big n well maintained. Food was good too.
However service was very slow and poor No wifi in rooms – only in their little lobby area
The linen was quite dirty and smelly when we checked in. Perhaps was not changed. We called staff to change but they brought some from neighbouring unoccupied room -which also did not seem to be clean and it was not a good experience to sleep and use such sheets.
The hot water comes only in limited time slots. Though was told 6-10 pm also but while using at 9 pm on 2 nights, had to shiver with cold water from tap.
The intercom is there but no one picks up at the reception nor at the restaurant until you try 5-10 times and if you are lucky.
They have a fireplace in rooms as their rooms are extremely cold in evenings somehow – but that also can be litted up for a few hours as per them.
The chairs and sofas and chairs in garden are very shabby and tearing from places which doesn’t give a good feel considering the steep price they charge for accommodation. Very poorly maintained.
The end stretch of road leading upto the hotel is extremely narrow & steep and in bad condition .

I stayed at Sherlock with my family for 3 nights. It was a pleasant stay. The garden view rooms were very well equipped and had a fireplace while the mountain view rooms had fantastic views. You can spend hours in the well kept lawn of the property admiring the mountains or reading a book. The hotel staff was very warm and always willing to help. Bala, the manager of the property, ensured that all our requests were duly catered to. Special mention for Vinoth and Praveen who went extra mile in ensuring our comfort.
The restaurant at the property has select menu and serves fresh and delicious food. We tried different cuisine each day and everytime it exceeded our expectations.
The hotel is located slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city. At the same time, it takes about 10 mins in a car to reach the centre of the city. Upon request, the staff can arrange a cab or an auto for local sight seeing.

Stayed for 2 nights at Sherlock, right from booking with Sam, welcome and send off by Bala, taken care of 2 nights by Sanjay, may it be the team which served us food or the people who lit the fireplace, each of the staff always wore a smile, were very gentle, friendly and courteous, so be assured of a hospitable treatment. The location of the resort is truly a chosen one, serene and calm, well maintained for you to rejuvenate and refresh. Photos clicked in this location are par excellence. The complimentary breakfast was very good, so were the rest of the meals. Just felt that knowing it was lockdown, they coul have stored mutton and fish as only chicken was available. We are happy about our choice of stay, it was a pleasant one.

The property is a well maintained British era Cottage on Tiger Hill with the main building housing lounges and dining areas. The Garden view rooms face a beautiful garden and are spacious, with a cosy seating area looking out. Rooms have functional wood fireplaces which add an authentic touch. The manager, staff and chef are all excellent. Bala manages the property efficiently and goes out of the way to keep guests comfortable. Sabarish, Praveen and Sanjay ensure that all needs are taken care of. A special mention for Surya the Chef. He made sure we were served what we wanted and we had very tasty food through our stay.

We spent a day at Sherlock and only wished for a lengthy stay. The property is maintained beautifully with a vintage colonial era theme. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable - with fruits, tea bags and toiletries provisioned. We stayed in the Mountain view room where the view from the balcony was simply breathtaking. This property has a perfectly manicured garden where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the view, stroll at your leisure or read a book at your heart's content. The food served to us was tasty and hygienic. We enjoyed the hospitality of the Sherlock Staff -- Bala (manager), Ajith, Vinoth, Marshall, Praveen, Gopal, Asha and Prema. The only nitpick is the road leading to this property, which can be improved. Overall, this place is highly recommended for the price.

We travelled as a group of 8 and opted for the mountain/valley-facing room. The stay, view, food and fireplace tea are all the highlights of our stay. Since this location is a little away from central ooty do prepare your travel and food based on that. Special kudos to Bala for accommodating our requests at odd hours. Marshall served us some fabulous fresh food throughout our stay. The service provided by Ajith, Vinoth, Gopal, Prema, Asha and Praveen deserves a special mention for making this trip wholesome.

From what I remember the rooms don't have wifi but the common lobby space does. Mobile network is fine &has has 4G. If you need to connect for a while you can use the mobile hotspot and manage.
The roads are narrow, but you should not have any trouble in terms of damage to a car
The last 100 meters or so from the gate to the lobby is a rough road with gravel and sand, but drive slowly there and you should be okay

Yes you can but it’s too much of an effort to reach there from the town and the approaching road to the resort is very narrow and isn’t that great. Else, the restaurant offers good quality food and the view is next to none.
