Mystique Ville is away from the hustle bustle of the "now" busy OOTY city. One of the many USPs of this place is the uniquely beautiful view it offers from each of the rooms in the resort. The vast green lawns, view of the waterfall and some rare flowers/plants are a treat to the eyes..The cherry on the cake is the extremely courteous and ever smiling staff...specially Mr.Balu who is a wild life expert among many other things..We took three rooms ,all facing the lawns and the waterfall and honestly did not feel the need to venture out anywhere. Food was lip-smacking delicious. Balu took us for an adventurous jeep ride deep into the forests and a night Safari . Overall this was one of our best holidays. The rooms are spacious and clean too.

The place was serene and beautiful. The view and landscape was so relaxing. The team was so helpful in giving us food according to our taste.

Kids enjoyed playing cricket and walking around.

We would like to go back for another family outing.

If you are ok to stay out of Ooty, but close to Ooty - this is the best Hotel. I stayed at Ooty for 2 days and second day was in this Hotel. So I left Ooty city on second day afternoon and arrived here.

The location is pristine; chosen one overlooking the Waterfalls. Very beautiful views. Better than those shown on Photos. The service is very good. Breakfast and food are also good.

Rooms are clean, and bigger. Somewhat issue about Hot water, but that is there everywhere in Ooty because of December weather.

Do not miss to stay here.

we three families stayed for two nights. The rooms are big enough with beautiful falls view. There is no access to falls and swimming pool thats bit disappointing. Food is good and tasty though we had less options for breakfast. over all Comfortable stay. Cross the checkpost before 9 PM otherwise they wont allow us to enter the route.

I visited the place with my wife, my one year old daughter and my inlaws. The quality of food is pathetic and as expensive as any 4 star property. They have Continental , Chinese etc on their menu but while ordering they will have a fixed reply as their cook is on leave. For anything you have to hunt for their staff first of all. Ooty being cold almost round the year, you will get hot water only after 6pm and in the mornings. All these were manageable but the experience that we had was completely unexpected. We were there by 1pm and initially they were courteous enough to offer lunch etc. In the evening we went to Ooty and returned to the hotel around 7:30. At 8pm we ordered some snacks, the waiter wanted the dinner order as well so that they can prepare on time. We sent our maid to enquire for the snacks which did not arrive even after 8:45. She returned saying they will be serving it soon. At 9:15 the waiter comes to our room to ask whether we will be having the dinner in the room or the common dining area. Enquiring about the snacks he said they are preparing it. I said how do you expect us to have dinner along with the snacks? Instead you cancel that. His answer was it was a mistake on our part that we didn't mention when we need the snacks. Moment I asked him to cancel the snacks his tone and body language changed and that's when I lost my cool. I had taken things lightly till then but after he said that he will not serve dinner if we cancel the snacks I was furious. I asked him to call the manager, on this he replied saying the manager can't come, if you have anything to say you go and meet him in the reception. After sometime the manager arrived with the waiter and another hotel staff in a manner as if they were in a mood to start off a fight. The manager was worse than the waiter and spoke exactly like a rowdy. Hearing the entire episode he screamed at us to get out of the property. It was 9:30 then. I was shocked to hear this but couldn't take the insult. I immediately called my friend who is into the travel business. He arranged a hotel in Masinagudi but he said it will be risky for me to travel at that hour specially with ladies. While I was talking to my friend on phone, the manager probably realised his mistake and apologised to my father in law. With the risk factor of traveling at night I also agreed to stay back. We checked out at 6 o'clock in the morning. We paid for everything finally. For 2 rooms and two meals for 6 adults I paid little more than 12k. The entire trip was spoiled by this and no one was in a mood to stay back for another day. The basic problem I realise now is the waiter doesn't know the difference between snacks and starters. It was humiliating and very disturbing for the entire family. If they could do this with us who were traveling with very elderly people and an infant, they can do this to anyone. Please stay away from this hotel.

During our 3-week vacation to India, we managed to steal a short holiday to a great resort called ‘Mystique Ville’ positioned in their website as ‘a pristine jungle experience’ !

Located amidst mountains and tea estates of Ooty in the south of India, this place is located more precisely near ‘Kalhatti Waterfalls’ on the ‘Seegur Ghat Road’ amidst the lush greenery of the tea plantations, waterfalls and dense foliage set at about 1,600 meters above sea level making it a very quiet and peaceful retreat.

Specifically, Mystique Ville is right off the 15th Hairpin Bend (about 25 kms downhill) from Ooty town, enroute to Masinagudi / Theppakadu / Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary.

The property is a well-maintained and very charming Portuguese style resort with Victorian style interiors. Each of the 11 Victorian styled rooms has restored antique furniture, complete with a hearth.

The 2 nights and 3 days that we spent there, we had the entire property all for ourselves, since there were absolutely no other guests !!

Jessica, the front office help was really helpful. Didn’t see any Manager about whom I’ve heard horror stories. The rest of the support staff was not too enthusiastic to put it mildly. Perhaps there were no guests around except just my family.

May be because there were no other guests the service standards were overall lax and lethargic.

Just to quote one example, when I got up early one morning (by about 6) to my utter shock I realised that no hot water was flowing from the bathroom taps. Mind you, mornings around here can get pretty chilly and the cold water was near freezing.

So I desperately went around looking for some help who can turn on the hot water supply, but couldn’t find a soul for a good 1 hour. After great difficulty I managed to catch hold of some local help and they in turn went looking for the plumber, who was finally found and after a good couple of hours running around the resort the hot water supply was finally turned on. It was very frustrating besides being very irritating. You certainly don’t want to go through this when you’re on your vacation.

One more downside of being the only occupants of the resort was that the restaurant service was shockingly poor and casually negligent.

The resort had to cook only for us and naturally it was on our pre order. No issues there. But what was served was of extremely poor quality with little or no taste, besides having to wait endlessly for our food – breakfast, lunch and dinner – even though we tell the restaurant in-charge what we’ll have a good 3-4 hours beforehand.

Overall loved the property. Particularly the pristine and lush environs complete with a flowing waterfalls (whose ever present lilting sound can soothe and calm the most knotted of nerves). Full marks there.

But the service standards across the board leave a lot to be desired.

This property is located away from the City on an hill side. Very good atmosphere and views, got good garden. Food is not that great, have got decent hospitality. Rooms are neat and tidy, even though they have a swimming pool in the property was not functional when I visited. They have named the property rightly as most of the time it's covered with mist. It's value for money kind of a one.

The hotel is located at an exotic location and indeed looks good from outside. Even the approach roads are interesting. However, the pathetic service that they offer and the dearth of routine maintenance works spoils it all up.

We came from mysore side and had booked Vintage rooms for two days through Agoda. First thing first- the hotel receptionist rarely pick the phone. With the help of google maps we somehow managed to locate the property. When we reached there, to my dismay they said Vintage rooms would be available the next day morning only since it's under renovation and for the time-being night they shall give us a Heritage room (and said I can get a refund from Agoda). So be it, we thought, since it was already 7pm in the night and we just wanted to hit bed.

Heritage room is strictly average- the cot was old and shaking, the TV was too old, few of the plug-points din't work, the switchboard to which the TV was connected had come off from the wall, one of the window didn't have bolts and the toilet was not neat. And to top it all up, the price that they charge for food makes TAJ look very VFM.

Got up late in the morning and when I checked about the vintage rooms they said the room would be available by 12 only. The free breakfast had limited items only and was strictly ordinary. Frustrated with whats happening around, we decided to leave the place immediately.

Will I come back? A big No.

Note: Please exercise caution while booking through Agoda. They don't have a customer support service in India and they are not supportive at all, to say the least. Their refund policy is a joke.
