I travelled to the Nilgiris to get a break from the stressful regime, to my utter dismay the place was still mostly under a lock down, with only a few places open for visitors. I luckily picked Sinclairs for my stay. My previous experience with them was great so blindly picked them. Despite all the restrictions the staff did great to make us feel at home. The front office executives Ms.Srishti and Mr. Anoop ensured to keep us well informed of the current scenario and helped us in all the way they could to make our stay pleasent. The F&B department under the able stewardship of Mr. Andrew is a group of star performers. Even with the limited resources Chef Chandan made us the best of food, befitting for our culinary needs. The staff at the restaurant Ms. Papiya, Mr. Partha, Mr. Sushant, Mr. Hriday and Mr. Ashwin make you feel really pampered and feel at home.
Coming to the property it’s idyllically situated and offers great views of the city. The rooms were hygienically sanitised and made fit for stay during the pandemic. The rooms are well equipped and aesthetically designed. Definitely recommended. Way to go team, keep up the great work.

We stayed at Sinclairs for 3 days. The management and hospitality was really good. All staff members were wearing masks, everything was sanitized regularly. We knew before going there that the hotel is under renovation, however we didn't expect them to put people in the same floor that they are renovating. Usually hotels renovates in parts and the section which is getting repaired is not up for use. There were dusts in our corridor. The rooms are not sound proof. Whatever people are discussing in the next room, we were able to hear it as if they are in our room. We couldn't sleep until 2am in the morning as the next door people were awake and we had to complain about the noise. Shower has only the shower head, if tap is not attached with the shower, usually hotels add hand shower, so that we can adjust the water temperature before we turn on the overhead shower. There was not enough space to put our clothes in the bathroom. Good quality room heaters are provided without any charge. They don't provide packaged water (ban on 1l or 2l bottle in ooty and i think it would be beyond their budget to provide 5l bottle, we cant expect that much from a mere 5k worth room)/room slippers even though its is mentioned in the brochure. Dinner was a disaster. We ordered chilli chicken and noodles. Noodles were good, but we got soupy chilli chicken (never seen gravy that watery). Breakfast was decent but the omelet was raw in the middle. Management should take up more responsibility and provide a good stay for the money they are charging for a room. I would suggest to go for sterling elk as our stay there was way better than Sinclair.

However, the renovation team’s effort is to minimise inconvenience to the guest. Lovely stay in Sinclairs ooty. staffs are so helpful and courteous. Chef chandan has given excellent preparation of grilled chicken and chicken cheesee kebab which is mouth melting. Front office staffs are so helpful and caring. Excellent service we all received in the restaurant. Rooms are very cleaned and we felt that we are too safe as time to time sanitization happening in hotel. We will back again .thanks to all team members for their excellent approach. Sinclair retreat staff team welcomed us with a vanilla milkshake and friendly smiles. The views of the immaculate garden and scenic city sunsets and sunrises were spectacular. All of the staff in the restaurant particularly; Andrew, Kalpana, Sushant, Punam, Hirday were very friendly and exceptional at ensuring that we were happy with their service. We found our room to be very comfortable and the housekeeping staff were also efficient and reliable.

Location wise a very good hotel, the Commercial Street is a 10 min drive, Dodabetta peak is not more then 15 mins and tea factory is a short 5 min walk down the hill. Very scenic location, evening commands a brilliant 180 degree view of the Ooty valley, from the podium. Staff is excellent and keeps the service standards high across departments, be it Front desk, house keeping, F&B even the security was very courteous.
A special mention to Ms Punam who kept a note of our requirements very efficiently. Always felt we were attended to. A big shout out to Mr Sony Mohan who was very helpful in all aspects. He ensured all our queries were attended to and looked into. He was always available on the phone when needed.
A few glitches, which the hotel needs to sort out quickly is WIFI and adequate signage on the road leading to proper directions. Otherwise the hotel is very comforting. Staff is excellent, menu is limited but good tasty food is guaranteed.

We stayed for 3 nights (30th Jan to 1st Feb) in 2 premier rooms. Our group consists of 4 adults and 2 rooms. The hotel is located at beautiful high location, view of the city in the morning is excellent with cloud cover below. Rooms are cozy.
I would appreciate the hotel staff. Before driving to Ooty we enquired and were properly guided to apply for e-pass as per the government requirement during COVID time. This made our border cross experience smooth.
Very good breakfast spread.
Restaurant staff were really helpful in arranging a birthday cake and delivering at room at requested time. Due to COVID restrictions the restaurant was operating with limited menu. However the staff obliged to our special requests and prepared our favorite food (which were not listed in menu) - a big thanks to the team.
Special mention for the following hotel staff who helped us and made our stay extremely comfortable - Andrew, Partho, Sushant, Papiya and Hriday. Thanks for making our stay great and will definitely come back during our next trip to ooty.

We have booked two deluxe rooms through Agoda which was the only option available at the last minute.
We arrived at the Hotel at 12 noon and Anup singh at the reception gave us a warm welcome and an upgrade for one room to a premier room which is having a good view. Thank you Anup for that :)
Everyone comes to Ooty to enjoy the scenic view and the climate. View from the deluxe room is towards the forest which is on the back side of the hotel which I did not like. Other than that I was totally happy here.
If there is a balcony for each room, then it would have been more wonderful.

A good view to the front lawn and kids play area. And beyond that its a beautiful valley view. They do have an area next to the lawn for the guests to sit outside and enjoy the climate, but still I missed that private balcony ;)
I have given 7.5 because my second day was at different hotel(La Montana by TGI) with a stunning view for which I will give 10/10. Apart from the beautiful view rest everything is not up to the standard of Sinclairs.

It is situated very close to the tea factory, but there are two roads shown in the google maps. You should take Ooty-Kotagiri Hwy and take the tea factory exit. The other route is totally bad.

I don't think so...you must remember that Ooty is a cold place, and you will anyway not feel like swimming.
