Hotel Saniya Palace B&B is located in Taj Ganj, in the heart of Agra Old Town, and five-minutes walk distance from the Taj Mahal. The property boasts a restaurant on its rooftop terrace, whose views of the Taj Mahal are unparalleled. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Taj Mahal is one of the 7 wonders of the world. A double terrace dressed with green plants awaits you to enjoy a typical Indian dish or drink a cellar facing this architectural masterpiece. The 12 rooms of Saniya Palace all have a private shower room with a toilet. Just like the lounges and the restaurant, mixing marble floor and many objects of Mughal furniture, special care has been taken in the decoration of each room, the draperies and fabrics plunge you 4 centuries back in history from India. Rooms include a full American or Indian breakfast. The hotel offers free WI-FI connection in all rooms and restaurants and lounges. The reception is open 24/24 hours and there is a tour desk where you can organize your visits to discover the many remarkable sights of the city, most of which are only a few kilometers from the hotel (the Fort of Agra, the mausoleums of Itimad-ud-Daula and Akbar in Sikandra ...). Couples particularly appreciate the location of this property. They give him a rating of 8.7 for a stay for two.

Detailed Reviews
TERRIBLE STAFF, poor rooms, 1 maybe 2 star standard, the ac and power worked and theres water and a basic wifi signal. Quite noisy, great view of Taj Mahal from terrace and food and drink poor quality and overpriced. This guesthouse is very close to The Taj Mahal entrances aswell. Your better to stay elsewhere and come here to have breakfast, lunch or dinner or just a drink and enjoy the view without the rest of this rundown guesthouse. When you have a padlock on the door of the rooms instead of a proper doorlock, tells you all you need to know about this place...
no view worth having from bedrooms only from the terrace.

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Saniya Palace. Although our rooms were quite basic (which is understandable considering we paid about £20 / ~ 2000 Rupees for 3 of us each night), they were adequate. The view from the roof is worth staying here however, and is even better in person. It was very pleasant just to sit on the roof relaxing, having some food and looking at the Taj in the distance. It's also about 10 minutes walk away which is handy.
The food and drink served here were also very nice, however if you're not used to the Indian water I would steer clear of the water brand 'Clarity' which the hotel sells and buy a more reputable brand such as Kinley or Bisleri which are available just down the street.
The staff are very helpful and booked us taxis to the train station and to Fatehpur Sikri, which was very handy as we did not have mobile data in Agra.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Saniya palace and would stay there again if we returned to Agra.

We stayed here whilst, surprise surprise, checking out the Taj Mahal which I must say was absolutely corking. I was prepared to be underwhelmed but despite the crowds and heat, it was truly breathtaking. The Suniya Palace was a good place to stay just around the corner and with helpful staff, good value rooms (with a/c that works, hurrah) and a lovely rooftop restaurant which has a splendid view of the TJ and good food; the vegetable pakoras a particular highlight. There were a few issues with the room on arrival though when pointed out, the manager was desperate to make amends, providing us with free chicken tandoori and chai at 4.30am in the morning. Still, just a simple room check would have prevented any issues. It's also slightly odd that the best few of the Taj, thanks to a pesky tree, is from the uncovered bit of the terrace which was too hot (or wet during a midday downpour) to sit in. Still, watching the Taj shift through its many moods over the course of a day of capricious weather, is something I will never forget.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights (January 11-14, 2020). We felt like we were part of a family! The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and trustworthy. The hotel is walking distance (less than 5 minutes!) to Taj Mahal entrance gate, making it at the top of my pick and the best experience in Agra. The staff were so accommodating and professional and we were treated like family members despite our cultural backgrounds. I highly recommend Hotel Saniya Palace for those visiting Agra, especially Taj Mahal. If time and circumstances permit, I and my family would love to go back there again in the future!

Best view of Taj Mahal you can have from here . A very small budget hotel and roof top restaurant, you can enjoy a coffee with a beautiful view of the Taj Mahal. Suitable weather is winter to enjoy this place with your friends. They don't have an elevator for the rooftop. So only stairs but you can get the best pictures from this place.

During my 2-day stay at Saniya Palace I was very happy with the room and services provided. The location is of course excellent, with a rooftop restaurant with some of the best views on Taj Mahal and only a 5 minute walk to the ticket office. The staff are helpful and accommodating, with eg. transportation. If I ever were to come back to Agra this hotel would be my first choice.

This hotel is something special. It is just 2 minutes walking distance from Taj Mahal entrance, and you can enjoy AMAZING views of Taj Mahal from their rooftop restaurant terrace, which is one of the highest in Taj Mahal's vicinity. They serve delicious food at reasonable prices. You can even book a very inexpensive room with the view of Taj Mahal.
The staff was extremely helpful, and they provided us with a very professional certified guide.

Very nice stay. Especially, great value for money. The rooftop terace has a beautiful view on the Taj Mahal and all employees very very friendly. Our room was nice and cozy (we had the one without AC). With AC is also available, even though double the price. Can only recommend.

Originally booked two nights but accidentally double booked our stay at the next state so we had to cancel one night with this hotel, but they were very accommodating and let us cancel our second night for free. It was very cold but they gave us a heater for our room and extra blankets. The staff are all very friendly and helpful! We didn't get a chance to eat here as it was too cold for me to eat outside but we did go to a great restaurant around the corner called Joneys Place which was very foreigner friendly and the food was fantastic, we ate there for every meal! Probably best to stay here in the warmer months because there is an amazing view of the Taj Mahal from the rooftop. In the colder months it's very foggy and hazy and you can't see it as well. Overall happy with our stay and the staff, and we felt safe here!

I stayed here with my 4yo son for about 3 nights, we booked the superior room at the top. The only room available on the roof top. If was amazing,I was very impressed with the room from which you could see the Taj Mahal.
the room was very clean , the bed comfy and big , hot water, clean towels and drinking water available.
The rooftop restaurant has the best view and the manager Bobby is super nice. He was friendly and helpful always providing a quick and awesome service.
The inclusive breakfast is nice and tasty.
Location also is very good,if you visiting Agra and want to be close to Taj Mahal to be able to go there early in the morning this is the place. Is just 3/4 minutes walk away. Many little shops are around and few nice cheap restaurants.
I would definitely return.
Hugs to bobby and his nice family
