The owner started so friendly, he invites people for a drink and then he offers oil massage and going into the room invading personal privacy. He plays the game of being friendly to take sexual advantage of you. He traps you till until he finds a way to touch you by offering his massage. A pervert to the highest level.... More

This place was great. It was down a bit of a smelly alleyway but it was a safe area and this is india after all. The rooms were clean enough, our sheets had a small burn mark and the staff offered to change them but as they were actually clean otherwise we declined. Walking distance to the taj south and... Staying at this guest house was a mistake. This place was far away from clean they do not respect your privacy to the point that the owner was asking really personal questions. And the price does not match the poor services offered (like a very filthy toilet)

we enjoyed our stay at this guest house. After checking out of a conning lying guesthouse around the corner called Hotel Shanti Lodge, where nothing worked and was filthy, Taj Guest house was a relief. Ok, was down a stinky ally way. But a guy there done nothing but clean all the time we were there. They were polite and... More

This hostel is located right next to the lonely planet famed Saniya Palace Hotel, with identical amenities, the same view of the Taj Mahal, but HALF the price. It goes to show how hotels raise the price when listed in the backpacker bible. Price aside, 'Mr Bond' the owner is a gem, extremely funny, and up with all the information... More

Staying in this guesthouse was the worst experience of my trip to India! Firstly the owner of this guesthouse is a is a con man... He conned me out of £250 and despite my best efforts he refuses to get in contact with me. I wish I had avoided this place completely. I felt unsafe during my stay here as... More

I first went to Saniya Palace further up the alley but the rooms were hot, damp and musty, lacking in any ventilation. They tried to offer me 500 per night, so I checked out this place. In my list of priorities for accommodation in India, clean, friendly and austere top the bill. Austere because the less the amount of crap... More

For female traveller, safety is the priority when travelling India. My experience in Taj Guest House was the worst when I was in India. What happened was that the owner of this guest house went into my room and told me to drink beer with him that evening. My room was just next to the reception. Before he left my... More

First of all, Agra is a dump! But you're in India and you have to see the Taj Mahal- which IS one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. It's sad really to look at the architectural beauty of the taj and then look at modern Agra- a stinking, cheating, filthy city. India has come a long way in... More

We were scammed at the "lonely planet pick" and went further down the alley to find this place. The rooms were Rs. 500 per night. Decent size. Well worn, but clean. There is free wifi. There is hot water, but it is solar heated on the roof (limited supply). The family that owns this guesthouse are friendly and helpful. It... More
