1. No exhaust in toilet/bathroom, handwash isn't even available.Forget a bath tub, geyser isnt even working properly.
2. Very poor maintenance of rooms, wall seepage observed, fungus filled pillows, damaged room lock,no slippers given, untidy blanket
3. Staff is good but no clear instructions given to them from their mgmt side.
4. House keeping is not being done. Rooms need to be cleaned daily, dustbins need to have cover and should be cleaned daily.
5. Door mats should be given atleast for bathroom. Slippers need to be provided
6. No cleaning of towels, rooms, toilet etc.
7. Only the welcome lounge is good but not rooms.Size of rooms is extremely small, not at all suitable for the price.
8. Limited options available for maincourse. You are not allowed to choose both fish& chicken. What if one member doesnot eat any one of those.
9. I have visited HHI Bbsr, but HHI Varanasi isn't that good.
10. Needs a lot of improvement in service or else the hotel is going to loose all its guests if this kind of service continues. People are not going to come again to this hotel for this kind of service at such high prices.
If you are couple then take double bed room its very nice, the experience of a bathtub and shower and all the facilities provided will surely be a great experience
If you are with someone that you are not that close and want some privacy the two singe individual bed room is nice .
In banaras this is one of the best hotel with a swimming pool , spa,bar and a restaurant
1)Swimming pool
Most of the time the swimming pool isnt full and have very few people which is definitely good and it is properly cleaned from time to time, although the swimming pool service person isnt always there , so i would request that he should be there at all time to provide clean towels to the guest promptly
2) restaurant/ cafe
I found the food not upto my expectations, although they have a lot of variety but it still lacks a lot in the food department
The quantity and the quality is not upto the par with the price tag that is put on , i think its should be economically good too , 100ruppees for 2chappati ,and a small amount of dal is overpriced
Food here doesnt taste aunthentic, South indian dishes like sambar doesnt taste nothing like true aunthentic sambar , same with north indian foods like dal makhani and the chicken biryani's chicken wasn't cooked properly , the cook needs to be more experienced and well versed with how these dishes actually taste, and i recommend the hotel to keep quality and taste every month from time to time to keep it the best
Because if the customer are paying a exorbitant price then they expect the food to be as tasty as an aunthentic dish
3)room service
Room service was very nice ,. I had a great experience with a fellow room service person commonly known as dubbey ji , the room was cleaned from time to time, the toilet paper, towels were changed everyday
4) i ordered food in the room ,and additionally told them to bring some lemons but to this date it wasnt bought to me in my room, i think they still need improvement in food and its service department
5)The receptionist were very nice ,they were helpful in every ways and would try to tackle any problem you are facing with good solution
Overall its was a nice experience to stay there and will recommend anyone to visit here
Payal was very sweet and attentive
The lobby is very pretty, clean and comfortable
Towels need changing and hand towels needed. Not sufficient toilet paper or facial tissues

“I reached the hotel yesterday, 21 February, for my scheduled booking at around 2:15 PM. There were just too many people and luggage all around the reception area. After a brief wait I was allotted a room, 305, and was informed I had been “upgraded”.
One of the hotel personnel accompanied us with the luggage to the room. To our horror and I’m sure it scared the other person to no end, the room was already occupied and someone who was resting / sleeping was awoken with a shock and started asking who and why had someone entered the room. The hotel person mumbled some apology to the occupant and us and requested us to wait while he sorted out the issue. I was stunned by what had just happened. Couldn’t believe any hotel making such a mistake and more so a supposed 5 star hotel where I had paid in excess of 10000 per night for the room.
After waiting for sometime I went down to the reception and tried drawing attention from one of the hotel staff at the reception by saying “excuse me” and without even looking up he responded by saying “hoon hoon”. I had to specifically ask him to look up and pay attention to what I was saying and then had to ask for the Manager around. He was right there and had not been addressing the issue thus far. When I questioned once again, he apologised, said he will check with the sales team about the problem and asked someone to “upgrade” and allot a different room to me. This time I was allotted 207.
I was out on work and returned late, around 10:30 PM or so. There just a few other issues in the “upgraded” room.
* After flushing, the water doesn’t stop flowing, one needs to then keep pressing the flush buttons multiple times and keep praying it stops
* The handle for operating the tap / shower was just about dangling and came off easily upon trying to operate
That late in the night had to call reception and report the problems. A service person did come to have a look at the problem. For the toilet flush issue he just smiled and said “woh lever kahin phas jata hai, kaal subah dekhte hai”. He was however able to repair the problem with the handle to operate the shower / tap, though it took some time and he had to go away for getting a replacement, I guess. Can’t blame him though as I guess your entire set up is “lazy, laid back, relaxed and inefficient”. “

One of the floors of hotel is closed for renovation, and another floor is undergoing paint, without even closing the floor for guests. The rooms of 6th floor carry strong smell of chemical - may be from paint work in progress.
The rooms are neither modern, nor with antique aesthetics. They are way too normal for a “5 star luxury” hotel.
We had complimentary breakfast as part of our booking, and sad to say that even food was stale. Items were repeated from previous day, and tasted exactly that as well.
Surprisingly the hotel asks guests to sign a declaration at checkin, that if guests order food from outside, hotel will not provide any cutlery!!!!!! This is insane!
Just a day before our check in, we were thinking of cancelling the booking, and book Double Tree Hilton by paying little extra, especially as we were at Varanasi after a long trip and wanted to make our stay at hotel relaxing, but we could not as otherwise 90% of the reservation amount would have been forfeited by HHI. After our stay at HHI, we repent the decision to book this hotel, more so at the cost the hotel asks claiming to offer 5 star experience.
The staff is polite, yet there is a limit they can cover up for management’s ineffectiveness.
Our strong recommendation to book a stay with HHI/Hotel Hindusthan International, Varanasi.

Very poor maintenance of property. Seepage is seen all where in bathroom.
Management was not responsible and customer friendly.
Amenities – No dental Kit, No Shaving Kit, only 1 litre (500 ml x 2) drinking water for 2 persons, no Bath mat (Towel), no hand towel, No spoon with coffee maker kit, only one glass with coffee maker, only one bathroom shaving/brushing glass. Bucket, Mug and stool were provided after many requests. Mug quality was very poor.
Extra drinking water on request was provided RO water in old plastic colour bottles with number of scratches.
Food quality was very poor with limited items in Complimentary Breakfast.
Bathroom - no hot water in wash basin & despite complaint several times, but no response.
Bathroom water tap was worn out and water is coming out parallel from both tap and shower in same time.
Stay turned out to be pathetic due to poor material state and maintenance of the rooms.
Room was dirty with dust all over, toilet seat was not fixed, leaky taps, floor tiles chipped at several places. These defects could not be fixed therefore hotel management changed our rooms.
New allotted rooms too had its own share of woos. AC blower made loud noice so it had to be switched off despite efforts by maintenance staff. There was no exhaust in toilet.
Front office and staff was curtseous and breakfast provide was hygienic with a good spread.
Live music flutist and tabla, in lobby was soothing. Linen provided was good and clean.
How HHI manages to sell such dilapidated property at four star rack rate?
It sells through travel agents who are given commissions upto 40%
At best this property can be given a two star rating for its current state of rooms.
"I would suggest avoiding this hotel. There were many guests waiting in the lobby for a great length of time for being allotted a room. Service is poor to say the least."Read full review
