Getting there
Good for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Location: The location is great, though you have to walk last 300 metres to hotel as cars / rickshaws/ auto etc are not allowed most of the day. Dashashvmedh ghat is 600 metres / Kashi Viswanath temple is 400 metres and easily walkable.
Rooms : First things first. What they show on photo in website during booking is not what they actually offer. Also some of the the facilities written in website are actually not available. The superior Room we booked @Rs 7000/- was terrible and suffocating. So had to pay extra and upgrade executive room. However room had issues with A/C. it cooled like fridge with no temperature control. But the Fridge in the room never worked. So be careful. Room rent is on higher side by atleast 1.5 times.
Breakfast: Almost same items everyday , but eatable and OK if included in room rent. Otherwise go out and eat as cheaper rate. Room service is generally fast, but messes up sometimes. Food quality reasonable / OK.
Staff service reasonably polite.
We spent 5 nights and realised that closeness to Ghats or temple actually does not matter as went to temple once / or Ganga aarti once only. A reasonably priced hotel slightly away / in less congested area may be a better option.

Stayed with family for 3 nights just recently. The stay in the Ganges Grand was quite pleasant. The rooms are clean and well appointed and serviced regularly. The location close to Kashi Vishwanath temple as well as Dashashwamedh ghat is the best thing about the hotel. The restaurant serves a basic buffet breakfast which is OK considering the price. The dinner spread (a la cartè) is better. The staff are nice but I felt the reception staff could have been more helpful by offering suggestions about transport and tourist activities. Since the location is very close to the centre of action, traffic is heavily regulated in the area and we had to walk about 500meters each time to get to our car. We had rooms with windows to the main road junction - the downside of which is the noise of incessant honking by the two wheelers running rampant in the city. If you'd rather have a quiet night's rest it'd be better to get rooms in the inner aisles. I wouldn't mind staying in the Ganges grand again.

I visited this hotel with my son for a small Trip of Varanasi and booked this hotel on phone after talking with Mr.Raunak from 3rd July to 4th July. The location of this hotel is very close to all the prominent places including Vishwanath Temple and all the ghats which are hardly half kilometers and are at a walkable distance.
Overall experience of our stay was awesome and Hotels rooms are very nice , staffs behaviours were very good and food was ultimate.
Hospitality level of this hotel is Excellent and best part is Hotel people( Raunak Sharma) have arranged a local guide for us who took us all the places without asking any thing which is rare in any tourist place. On second day when I asked the guide the charge he said it is your choice and Hotel people also did not force me to give any particular amount. They said what ever you wish you can give and he will not ask. This is really highly appreciated act of Hotel and Guide. At the end when we wanted to go Airport the taxi was arranged within no time by Hotel team.
My special thanks to Mr.Raunak Sharma and salute to his customer friendly approach and pleasing personality.
I would definitely Visit this Hotel again and recommend any one who wants to enjoy Varanasi trip stay in this hotel which is at Godowlia chowk. Other hotels may be little cheap but the kind of amount you would spend in coming to Ghats and Temple on Taxi or Autos or E rickshaw will get compensated once you stay here.

The receptionist is rude. Should be changed. The Cottage room (most expensive), was smelly & upon asking the reception to change it, they didn't. Instead, they sprayed some freshner, which covered the smell temporarily, and again, it was the same. On booking, we had requested Jain food, and there were hardly any options available. Daily, they would serve Iddli/vada sambar and puri sabji.
The only plus point is it's location. The Kashi Vishwanath temple & ghats are at walking distance.

Selected this property just for location advantage but reaching or leaving with baggage is a big issue. It is in a no entry zone so it is very difficult to carry your baggage unless hotel helps you for the same. We booked Executive rooms with breakfast. We were not happy with both. Being on the main chowk so full night the road traffic is going to disturb you if your room is on road side.

1. Centrally located at the most ideal place at Godowlia Chowk. 2. At walkable distance from Kashi Vishwanath temple. 3. Very near to the auto stand so that walking is minimal for reaching various locations such as Dashwamedh ghat,Assi Ghat and Ravidas ghat for Cruise journey. 4. Very close to the famed eateries of Varanasi. 5. Upkeep of hotel is good. 6. Dining hall is very spacious though costwise on higher side. 7. The travel desk should be more active towards guests. 8.My advice to guests is to request for pick up and drop facility,as otherwise you may face problems due to traffic restrictions.

The team Grand Ganges hops off all boundries to keep their guests in the best comfort. My parents who being senior citizen had visited Kashi for Pilgrimage snd their stay in Grand ganges was overwhelming because of their beautiful cottages, Homely hospitality and finger licking good food served. I would highly recommend everyone who cannot accompany parents to Kashi ,to undoubtedly send their parents at this hotel where stay is very safe and is very close to Temple, Ghats and Shopping arena. Thank you Team Grand Ganges for making this pilgrim more holy for my parents, God Bless. Special thanks to Mr Tiwari

I had stayed in this hotel for 6 days and they have been thoroughly professional in all the days. Room service was excellent , the restaurant inside for serving guests was good and everything was arranged in such short notice. I also took help of travel desk which though charge a bit higher will pickup and drop at the hotel itself. There were many vehicles which are not allowed near the hotel vicinity so one can avail the hotel transport. The manager Mr Anand and transport desk manager Mr Raunak thoroughly arranged the transport and there was no delay in either the pickup or drop. Will recommend if you are looking for a pleasant stay in Varanasi.

The hotel has one positive thing going for it.. it's location. Being at the Godowlia more all the ghats and the temples are pretty nearby. Otherwise the experience was not good. The Superior Room given to us (2persons) was too small for one even person to stay properly. It had NO windows, one small chair , two very small beds and one small cabinet and keeping the luggages was an impossible task. Dawat restaurant is expensive and common place. Kebab ordered tasted like rubber.

"The restaurant food is adequate, but if you are looking for a more tastier dining experience, I'd recommend exploring other restaurants in the area.
