The establishment is very well managed by a very friendly gentleman who knows how to take care of his guests. The staff are just lovely and very helpful. Breakfasts can be taken in the room or on a terrace with an absolutely spectacular view of Benares and the Ganges.
A big thank you to the whole team for their hospitality, we really felt at home in the heart of Benares. A true haven of peace.! We will most certainly be back as soon as possible!

You can exchange your currency on site for a minimal commission.
The meals are excellent at very reasonable prices. Allow on average €6 for two people, a hot dish, Naans and a bottle of water. The staff are charming and dedicated. The hotel can provide you with a driver who will pick you up at Varanasi airport and take you to the hotel for around 10 euros. We recommend this establishment +++

This said, our second storey room with a large balcony, was nicely situated directly above the Ganges river. Service was overall pleasant and we enjoyed some lovely food there. Servicing of the room occurred only once for our three night stay.
On checkout however, management insisted on cash for final payment which included the cost of the taxi back to the airport at almost double the normal rate. This extra cost was blamed on the Mela festival.
Location wonderful and rooftop terrace.
Staff excellent
Food good
Sunrise and sunset boat trips are a must but you can book these elsewhere.
Soft beds
NEGATIVES
Location difficult to find if you don't know the place
Access for last 10 minutes from main road but they did carry the baggage for us. On the way home we did insist they carried it rather than wheeled it as there was dog and cow poo everywhere.
Rooms overpriced
One of the staff kept pestering for a tip
The owner is a money grabber
SUGGESTIONS
Get prices of the trips before you arrive as we had to work hard to get this. We arrived very late, very tired and all the owner wanted to do was sell us trips. Fortunately we insisted he give us this before we arrived as I'm sure he would have ripped us off whilst our guard was down through fatigue.
Probably wouldn't stay here again

It's a great central location easy and safe to explore everywhere on foot no need for tuk tuk's etc.
The roof terrace is an added bonus to watch the world go by. Rooms spacious clean and comfortable and have everything you need.

Our room was beautiful, very large, well decorated with traditional windows and balcony with a stunning view over The Ganges. The bathroom was large and had a good shower and western style toilet. The bed was incredibly comfy.
Although noisy until about 10pm, the street outside was quiet afterwards, ensuring a good night's sleep.
The staff were friendly and efficient, especially the waiter who served us breakfast every morning with a good sense of humour.
The sun terrace is fabulous with spectacular views of the town and The Ganges.
I did a yoga lesson one morning, it was easy to arrange and I was taught by a knowledgeable and friendly teacher. It was suitable for all levels of yoga students.
The guest house arranged a taxi for us to the airport.
Shiva Ganges View is a welcome respite from the intense, very hectic life in Varanasi! We were grateful to come back somewhere peaceful after our exploring!
