This is a very comfortable and clean guesthouse situated in a perfect location. It is literally just a minute's walk from the gates, as well as cafes and restaurants, yet it is nestled in a quiet side alley. I stayed there in February 2025 during an exceptionally busy time when Varanasi was flooded with pilgrims from the nearby Kumbh Mela site. I truly appreciated being able to relax at the guesthouse after a long day of navigating the noise and crowds. The rooms and attached bathrooms are spotless, and the mattresses are incredibly comfortable—something that isn't always guaranteed in accommodations at this price point. On the top floor, there is a lovely rooftop that offers wonderful views of the Ganges and the ghats. Sonu, the manager, helped us arrange our departure and transfer to our next destination. He is remarkably honest and trustworthy, and he can answer any questions about Varanasi. Overall, I felt safe and secure during my stay. I will definitely choose to stay at Marigold Guesthouse again the next time I travel to Varanasi.

An excellent guest house with the most convenient location - 5 minutes to the main ghat, 2 minutes to the descent to the river, 10 minutes to Manikarnika, and a very quiet street. There is a rooftop with a great view of the Ganges. The rooms are perfectly clean, Wi-Fi worked without interruptions, and there is always hot water.
The owner is simply a miracle, he organized the transfer, met us despite the late hour, showed us everything, told us, advised where to go. Always answered all questions and even more, thanks to his help and hospitality, I felt at home.
There is also an excellent view cafe 2 minutes away.
I advise everyone to go on a morning boat ride, it’s something unreal - drinking masala in the main square and watching the city come to life, and then watching the sunrise from the water with a stunning view of the ghats. Sonu gave an interesting tour and took a million cool photos))

I had an excellent stay at Marigold Hotel in Varanasi, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting this vibrant city.
The hotel’s location is unbeatable – just a 1-minute walk from the Ganges River, making it incredibly convenient to explore the ghats and experience the spiritual essence of Varanasi. Being so close to the river meant I could easily catch the morning aarti or enjoy a serene sunrise walk along the ghats.
The staff at Marigold were warm, welcoming, and always eager to assist with anything I needed, from arranging tours to providing recommendations for local eateries. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, offering a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring the city.
If you’re looking for a hotel with a fantastic location, great service, and a cozy atmosphere, Marigold is the perfect choice. It truly enhanced my experience in Varanasi, and I would definitely stay here again!

Excellent value for the money! Marigold falls within the category of budget accomodation. However, the excellent pricing does not impact the quality: the location is just perfect very near to the main ghat, the room was always clean and, the last but not the least, Sonu, the owner, really ran the extra mile helping me with all my requests. I would also like to point out that I always felt very safe which for me, as a female travelling alone, is certanly quite important.

Mattress was super comfortable!
Marigold guesthouse is very close to all the main attractions and 2 minutes from Ganga river.
It’s so peaceful and silent; I really enjoyed coming back there after spending time outside in the busy narrow roads of Varanasi.
View from the rooftop is really enjoyable!
If you ask for it filtered water is available so you can refill your bottle and avoid plastic waste!
There are many cafes and restaurants nearby.
I really recommend this place!

The Marigold Guest House is in a perfect location for exploring Varanasi. Right above the ghats and just a few minutes’ walk from the main ghat. There are plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. We especially loved having breakfast at Aadha-Aadha cafe in the same alley, just a few feet away.
The room was spacious and clean, with plenty of room to put our things. While the room has a private bathroom, it’s across the common patio, which was surprising, but not a huge issue as few guests venture up to the rooftop and the other room on that level was en-suite.
Mr. Sonu, the owner, was super responsive and helpful throughout. It was an easy booking and easy stay, and we will definitely stay at Marigold Guest House next time we visit Varanasi.

I spent 3 nights during my solo trip at Marigold and it was a great stay! Few min walks from the main ghats and near by restaurants and facilities, Marigold is a quiet place to stay with simple and comfortable rooms, clean with fan or AC. The rooftop is wonderful and allowed you to enjoy the Ganga river view, sunset and sunrise and also practicing yoga. Sonu, the owner is kind, welcoming and passionate about his city. His offering boat rides and guiding you around the city. He has a lot of knowledge to share. I definitely recommend you this place if you want fully enjoy Varanasi! Thank you Sonu!

The location is very good, close to the central ghats and still tucked away from all the commotion. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and shops of all kinds. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well functioning. Mine had a fan, but you could also have Aircon. Hot water was available, and the owner was helpful with advice and tips and answering any questions.

Hey! They have rooms with balconies, but they are quite small and don't face the river. They have a nice rooftop though, and you can see the river from there.

Sir you have to walk like 200-250 meter where you left your car because we are located near the Ganges so car and auto is not coming suppose if you are coming bu the cycle Riksaw then you will come near the Ganges at main ghat ( Dashashwmedh ghat) and my place located at Munshi ghat just two ghat after the main ghat .
if you tell me when you want to live my place then i clear about Ac because in 2 or 3 day we are going to make some room with ac so then i say i have ac .
About break fast Sir my place not provide break fast this time but we have so many restaurant around us where you get very easy food in just 30 second.
