The hotel itself has no particular relevance, but our room was discreet and clean and above all very quiet. It's off the road, at the bottom of a dead end where cars don't come. Quiet alley in terms of security. A few dozen meters. In this period, access from the road is disadvantaged by the presence of roadworks in the road lane in front of the alley. If we have understood correctly, the final station of the Varanasi cable car will be there, a sort of zip line, elevated to the very clogged roads. There is a restaurant on the third floor, called “caffè restaurant 1916” which is also open to outside customers lunch and dinner, there is also breakfast for hotel guests. We had dinner there twice and ate well, they also make pizza which is discreet and well seasoned. The breakfast is rich mainly in Indian food, there is a corner with jam and bread in a box, butter, fruit and some cereal. we stayed two nights and frankly we enjoyed it. We found the management of hot water a bit strange: if you plan to use it before seven in the evening you should call the reception to ask for activation and wait about 20 minutes for the water to heat up. If we have understood correctly instead from seven pm onwards there is an automatic ignition and therefore there is no need to solicit. the location is fantastic to get to the Ganges and visit the Ghats: practically you leave the alley you turn right and go straight ahead dribbling between tourists, pilgrims, risho scooters, tuktuks, cows, dogs ... . But we never feel insecure except to be run over.

Our experience has been very good. Hotel very well located in Varanasi, you can walk to the main streets (2 minutes) and the main ghats in 7-8 minutes. Since our arrival the attention has been excellent, with a welcome pack. Clean rooms with everything you need in India.

The restaurant, despite the fact that on the days we stayed, only had vegan food, everything was very delicious. Excellent attention, specifically Suhail, very attentive to us at breakfast, he brought us a typical Indian breakfast “not spicy” and very delicious.

We recommend it 100%.

We landed in this hotel by fate, as after arriving in Varanasi we found the hotel we booked was quite far from the center. We looked for hotels around the central area at Godowlia and found out that few hotels take foreigners as guests. The staffs of a hotel that we were trying to book were kind enough to suggest to go for 'Shree Ganesha Palace". The person at the reception of Shree Ganesha Palace was nice and helpful. It seemed he was from the family that owns the place. We ended up staying 4 nights instead of 2 nights and he even upgraded us to a different room upstairs at the same price. It was a wonderful stay altogether in the heart of the center but relatively quiet. The staffs were warm and friendly; specially we enjoyed the company of Divakar each morning during breakfast, who speaks good English and literally guided us what to plan for the day. Would like to stay again.

As soon as we entered the room we noticed that the sheets and towels were dirty, all stained. We asked to change all the dirty things. First they only changed our pillowcases and towels. Upon insistence they also changed the sheets. They brought several all with many stains. Having found one with fewer stains than the others, they removed the old one, and underneath there was a mattress cover that was really disgusting. Full of dark stains, hair and dirt, something a customer would never want to see. Embarrassed, they took it away... They kept saying "if you are happy, I'm happy" but we would have been happier to find a clean room after 9 hours on the train to reach Varanasi.
Small rooms that overlook a shared balcony, where other guests and staff pass by. You must therefore always keep the curtains closed otherwise anyone passing by can see into the room.
Exclusively savory breakfast.
Very kind staff.
Despite being in a courtyard sheltered from the main street, the incessant traffic noise of Varanasi reaches the room.

I felt at home here. I had the impression of arriving at my family as the conditions were met to make the guests feel good. Very warm welcome, attentive staff throughout my stay.
The hotel is spacious and very clean. The room (premium) had all the necessary comfort to make me feel good. Modern bathroom also, with hairdryer, shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush, etc. Laundry service, driver, transfer, safe, water every day, fridge, cleaning every day (if desired), gym, and everything you might need. You just have to ask!
The 1916 restaurant is excellent and open at all hours. The welcome is incredible and the quality of the food is impeccable. Don’t hesitate to ask for “not spicy”, it’s a place where they understand!
Special thanks to Harshit, the owner, who made everything so easy and Suhail, waiter at the restaurant, who gave me valuable advice, all with a smile. Thank you for making this stay an exceptional one. I will come back with pleasure.

I loved the hotel. Since we arrived, they welcomed us with a lot of love and good energy. The facilities are very good and well-kept, the restaurant offered very delicious, non-spicy food and also music and good service.
We met the owner, Harshit who speaks Spanish, he was very attentive and friendly and gave us a very nice tour to the ghats and boat ride on the Ganges. It was a beautiful experience.

Hotel is nice, placed in centre of Varanassi, close to all ghats. Stuff is extremely friendly, special Suhail whit his comunicative style and helpfullnes for every wish. Romms are clean and well stuffed. Maybe curtain for showers can be longer not to spray water around the washroom when showering
Recomended!

My partner and I stayed here for just one night, when we arrived we were told the WiFi was not working but would be on within an hour, three hours later it was still off, we were told by a different worker it had not been working for days, they kept changing there reasons and lying saying the whole area was down which it was not.

I went to pour a glass of water in the room and the glass wrapped nicely in a paper bag was cracked with a huge chip missing on the lip, I nearly cut my lip open as didn't notice at first, I complained to reception and they just kept laughing and saying we'll replace it, which they never did.

The towels had stains all over them that looked like faeces.

I explained that due to no WiFi I did not want to stay so they offered a 50 percent discount, when we left they said no we can't give a discount as its booked already, then said OK we'll reduce it by 500 rupees.

They were rude and confrontational making us feel intimidated and ruined our stay in varanasi.

Located in the heart of Varanasi, our stay at Shree Ganesha Palace was overall a pleasant experience. Although the rooms were small, they were well-equipped with all necessary amenities. Our check-in and stay were smooth, but the check-out process left something to be desired. The morning staff at reception did not respond to our calls, and there was confusion over the minibar items, with extra charges being added. I would suggest that the minibar inventory be checked during check-in to ensure a smoother stay for future guests.

Due to roadworks in the vicinity, the access to the property was tricky, but OK, and there was a very warm welcome at Reception with coffee, bindis and beads. Our room was big enough and clean enough, although the bathroom lighting was a bit dark. The 1916 restaurant was buzzy and offered a good range of tasty food for breakfast and dinner, and live folk music from 8pm. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was about a 10 minute walk to the main Ghat, through a crowded but safe pedestrian shopping area. Note - no fault of the hotel, but there was a lot of external noise - day and night - from car horns and barking dogs.

The hotel is very safe. It is down a narrow alleyway but once through the big gates it surrounded by high walls with a nice central courtyard and it feels very safe. There is always someone in reception. It think it would be better for a solo female traveller to get book rickshaw to take you to / from the morning and evening aarti when it is dark. They are very cheap!

if you are travelling alone then go for the economy double room. it would fit your bill plus in varanasi you would outside most of the time for the sight seeing. But both rooms have good hygiene so that wont be a problem
