I visited Varanasi with my family from 4th Oct to 8th Oct. It was our first visit to Varanasi. We stayed at Banaras Haveli, but honestly speaking the stay was not upto our expectations. When asked for an extra pillow....It was refused. We were offered the rooms in the ground floor were which had no ventilation & smelled Pathetic. On request, Room freshners used but they also smelled worse. Rooms are not cleaned daily, only if you request, rooms are just quickly mopped & towels & bed sheet are changed only if you insist. Food prices are extremely overpriced. The only advantage is that it is extremely close to Assi Ghat. Well the view of the Ganga from the Roof top also provides a wonderful view. Staff Mr Kabir & Mr Imtiaz are quite cooperative. To sum up, it's a very mediocre overpriced Hotel.

Hotel Banaras Haveli is a descent Budget hotel with good service. The superior room sizes are okay however they do not have much of a view outside the windows. This is compensated but a good rooftop restaurant with a view of the river from a distance.
Room service is prompt with the bed linen and toiletries changed everyday although I believe that the occupancy of the hotel when we visited in January this year was not very much.
They have parking arrangement with their sister hotel the Temple on the Ganges which is just across the road. The walk to Assi Ghat from the hotel is just a about 3 mins and one can actually hang around at the ghat not worrying too much about getting back and transport issues.
Special mention here for Mr. Ajay Pandey who the hotel has engaged to help the tourists go around Banaras. Ajay is an extremely helpful guide and he knows his Banaras well. He took us on tours for all the Mandirs and also helped us shopping at authentic Silk factories. If there is anything that you know about Banaras and would like to experince please do mention it to him and he makes sure you get what you want.
Overall a good experience.

We stayed there for 2 days. It was a good experience. The staff is very cooperative. The Manger Rahul is also very good. And their tourist guide named Ajay is also very helpful. Our checkout date was 1st October but due to some circumstances we had to stay there for a couple of more hours after the checkout, I asked Rahul to arrange something as the rooms were already booked. But somehow he managed it. The rooms on the fourth floor are the best as they are properly ventilated and some rooms have river view as well.

Nice location, ok room, but then all the positives have also been said. Cleaning must be requested, and even if you hand over the key in the morning when you leave, it has NOT been cleaned when you come home in the afternoon. They promise wifi in the rooms, but it didn't happen in ours on the 4th floor, which is obviously too far up. Breakfast is more than simple, we lived for 3 days on battered yogurt with Corn Flakes and white sandwich bread with synthetic jam. Can be used for lack of better, but we do not recommend it

I travelled to Varanasi with my senior citizen mom during the Mahakumbh. The hotel staffs took very good care of us. We had an amazing stay with divine experiences of Shri Kashi Viswanathji darshan and Ganga ghat Aarti. The location of the hotel near Assi ghat beside Gangaji made our experience smooth and enriching. Also enjoyed the rooftop restaurant with the river view.
A special mention to the hotel guide MR.AJAY PANDEY who went above and beyond to make sure we have a hasslefree temple darshan and enjoy the local cuisine.
Thank you very much Hotel banaras Haveli for helping us make some wonderful lifelong memories!

We were two women travelling and felt very safe. Very comfortable and clean, cozy hotel, centrally located (a couple of minutes from Assi Ghat and many, many good restaurants, roof top and others). The service was excellent and the food at the roof top restaurant very good. Despite the closeness to Assi Ghat with all its early morning and late night ceremonies the hotel was very quiet. We could see the Ganges from our window. The room was a comfortable size, the bed and bedding just what we needed and the hot water always available. For wifi connection I had to go into the hallway by the stairs but that wasn't an issue for us at all. I would absolutely stay there again!
Tip: Leave enough time for check out because when we needed to pay with an international credit card there was only one machine that was set up for international transactions and it took them quite a while to locate that one - they first had to find a person that knew where another machine was. All other machines showed a card error, even though there was nothing wrong with the cards we tried.

Rooms are small and good clean as well washrooms was clean hot water available 24hrs staff is really really co-operative , actually we got late 1 hr for check out but staff is very clam and they understand. Loby is very attractive.
Hotel location near Assi ghat walkable distance 5 mint to assi ghat Subh-e-benaras program spot , Street food joint maximum option you will get full night , Zomato delivery also they allowed, hotel rooftop is cherry of the cake . very very important mr.Ajay Pandey ji tour advisers he gave free service for how to travel kashi where to go first with distance and auto fare , while traveling if you get any problem to reach temple or any ghat or any food joints he guide you on phone with out irritating and he is really very kind and genuine man i really appreciate his work and hotel facilities Highly recommend this hotel for peacefull area .

We visited Varanasi during October 2021 and had initially booked a hotel near Hotel Banaras Haveli. But our stay in that hotel was not satisfactory and we finally decided to cancel our booking and shift to this hotel.
Hotel Banaras Haveli is located very close to Assi ghat. The rooms are quite specious, clean and with all basic amenities. From some of the rooms and the terrace where the hotel restaurant is located, you get a view of river Ganga. The proprietors Mr Pandey and his wife were very accommodating and helped us to book a good river facing room within that short notice and made us relieved from the un-comfort of the hotel we were staying in.
The restaurant food (purely vegetarian) was really tasty though prices are a bit on higher side. I really liked the taste of hot fulkas (roti) they served us in dinner.
There are still some scope to improve the services, like the tea maker in the room didn't work ever after replacing the same twice. These small things should be taken care off.

We went Feb 2016, we did not have any bug problem.
Benaras is a very old town, and I am sure it is possible to have bugs. Always a good idea to check the room you are getting before you sign in.
We upgraded to "Premium" and got a room with a view of another building a few feet away next to a noisy alley even though their website boasts that ALL rooms have panoramic views of the city. I suggest getting a room that is in another hotel.
There are more places to choose from in the Varanasi area.
