Rivera Palace is a lovely hotel tucked away in a quiet enclave off the busy Assi Road in Varanasi. Although my father and I were travelling through Varanasi during the Corona pandemic, we were very reassured by the hotel's safety and sanitary arrangements. Also, although the hotel was hit by the pandemic in terms of being short-staffed, they never let us feel the limitations. The food was lovely--ask the chef for hot phulkas (tawa rotis); they were divine. All the staff were not just courteous but made us feel like we were home. We would especially like to thank Brijesh for being so warm and for looking after us so well and the chef for the delicious food prepared with such care and concern for our tastes!

It was a nice stay at the hotel. Room ambience was nice, services were good and cleanliness was on point. Very friendly and co-operative staff, especially Brijesh who is a helpful, soft spoken guy.
The Ambience of the room and room service is the best thing about this hotel.
Food is good, especially north indian cuisine. My only advice is don't try continental or other Chinese items, you might regret.
Only things that I would consider that need to be taken care of is the wifi here. If you are traveling for some business purpose and need a good and stable wifi, then you will have to rely on your own mobile network. Wifi service here is pathetic.
The hotel is near some beautiful ghats and you will feel quite calm and relaxed here.
Over all it was a wonderful experience. Great value for money, no doubt.

I stayed here for 4 nights in two rooms with family. We arrived late in the night and hotel is inside a lane not accessible to cars. They dragged our luggage on the dirty street, they didn't have a luggage trolley too.

Front Office staff are not very friendly and not flexible. Very rigid with rules etc. Restaurant staff are very nice, they are the only reason we decided to continue our stay for 4 nights in this hotel.

Rooms are ok, don't give a good feel but manageable. Room heaters are provided, which was good due to the cold winter waether. Hot water boiler is central and we need to inform them 15 minutes in advance to get hot water in the rooms.

The front office staff are too rigid. On the day of check out, I was down with stomach bug and requested late check-out till 3pm for at least one room as my flight was delayed by 4 hrs, but they didn't agree indicating the next guest is arriving in few minutes. We came out at after 12 noon and stayed in the lobby. But the guests for both our rooms arrived at 4pm when we were boarding our cab to the airport. They could have accommodated our late checkout request but they didn't intend to.

They seemed like not interested in retaining guests for further visits. As varanasi is busy and get several tourists. They don't seem to be keen on being guest friendly. This should be the last option if no other rooms are available.

This is a mean greedy hotel. They overcharged everything. Example...31 pieces of laundry, 12 were undies and socks, Rs3750, That's $75 Aus. You can book a boat trip direct for Rs600, the hotel charged Rs1500. That's 60%to the hotel and 40%To the boat. They own their own taxi and overcharge for its use. The driver has no English. Do not stay here.

This hotel is absolutely horrid for the price charged. The service was disgusting, and the manager was not even cooperative at all 😒🙄😿. Nobody cleaned our hotel room before letting us in and the stinky smell was not properly explained 🤮🤧🤢🤕😵‍💫. The only plus was that the breakfast was yummy 😋.

Inspite of booking deluxe room , was offered a room with two separate beds. When i raised a dissent, was moved to a dungeon with no ventilation. The owner shkbit say i am outside and will resolve it tomorrow.
We had to ask for towels ,for kettle , water was forzen in the fridge.
The hotel didn't give me a bill. Insisted on full payment as soon as we arrived. Inspite of paying 50 percent advice. Behaviour of receptionist was cheap Charlie, he had a leaking nose and the owner still had him on front desk, inspite of letting him know.
I am yet to get a bill with gst for stay, taxi, boat visit.
Boat visit was poor and we were not close to the aarthi.
Pl stay away from this place
. Bf ast was ok.

Had booked this hotel on Agoda with full payment, within 5 min of booking I got a call from the property asking me to speak to agoda that they have been paid short. When I denied doing the same being a customer who had paid in full. They flatly told me that my booking was not confirmed until I sort this issue with Agoda.

I am a Solo traveller and have booked various countries through Agoda, never experienced this kind of unprofessionalism

However Agoda helped me book a premium 4 star heritage property at a prime location. That's when I realized that booking Rivera at that rate was a mistake and there are better options more luxurious and close

Overall I would say I found this hotel extremely unreliable and unprofessional

Located right at the bank of the Holy Ganges, Rivera Palace is a hotel where you will find serenity with Top class service, cozy rooms with modern facilities and a humble staff strength.
U will fall in love with the first look as you enter the lobby and reception area.
A nice rooftop adds to the beauty of the place giving you a panoramic view of the old part of the ancient city. I wud suggest the place for backpackers, tourists and families.

I also had a negative experience at this hotel. It was unresponsive to a simple request that I was freezing in my room. I called and asked for help and no one ever came. Luckily, another guest in a neighboring room helped me. I found the food to be poorly prepared. When I asked about other possibilities, I received a response of "Go and get some street food." This place has a long way to go in regards to adequate customer service. I will not stay at Hotel Rivera again and I come to Varanasi often.
