Rio Resort was created with the concept of urban luxury merging with nature, perhaps the ideal Green Vacation spot would be this. The good times at the resort in the evening start with the dramatic moonlit sky and the river flowing by. The sound of the river water playing on the rocks by your side, while you sip on your glass of Red Wine, can you imagine what that would feel like? Perhaps imagining is not enough, visit Rio Resort, our River Scene Resort to experience such delight with nature.

As soon as we reached the resort, we fell in love with Mother nature. The lawn was big. Along with small river. Also the hospitality which is served by their efficient staff was comendable. I had a comfortable n nice stay. Also their staff guide us to the rober's cave . That was an adventure. In short I love it.

I am extremely pleased to cite my wonderful experience at Rio Resort between Dec 26 to 29th 2012. I had booked my stay after reading through the reviews on this site and mainly because I wanted space for my kid to play around. Right from the start of my interaction with the hotel's manager, Mr. Rajiv Gupta to the very end of my stay at Rio, it was a splendid experience. The Resort's manager, Mr . Joshi made us comfortable from the time we entered the resort and ensured that we had everything that we wanted. I must say that he is a great resource for the resort and is genuinely interested in ensuring a pleasant stay at Rio Resort. The location of the resort is just perfect close to the station, there is a small river that flows by and my little son was overjoyed by the open

Awesome place for a weekend getaway, we spent 3 nights 4 day at the resort and did not step out of the place. Initially we had planned to go to Mussorie also but Rio resort was so comfortable that we stayed back all 4 days. The kids had a blast and the food was simply delicious. Mr Rajiv (GM) is always around and very helpful. Overall it was a fantastic trip.

We were impressed as soon as we set foot on the property. The wide grass lawns and nice rounded huts beside the river were welcoming and our host Mr. Gupta made sure we were well taken care of. We got the deluxe room w/ A/C which was comfortable and clean. They cooked our meals to order and the food was excellent. The river is unfortunately downstream from Robbers Cave and so was not pristine with garbage and empty bottles around. We saw people further upstream park their scooter and motorbike in the middle of the river and wash them. This is of course beyond the control of the property. There is also a swimming pool right next to the property that is very noisy during the day, but after 5:30pm, tranquility sets in. They organised evening entertainment and were more than willing

I would never have thought that after spending a week in the beautiful surroundings of Pauri, the few hours spent at the Rio Resort in Dehra Doon would be one of the highlights of my trip! The soothing sound of the stream, the fresh and cool air -even on a warm May day-, the greenery and surrounding hills...all make for a perfect place to take a break. The staff is pleasant, the cottages well designed and neat, the food perfect, and the management seems to understand individual requirements very well. Guaranteed to rejuvinate and de-stress. A very pleasant discovery indeed!

This resort is a good option if you want to stay away from town and/or are on the way to elsewhere. The river location is nice - the robbers cave nearby is worth a visit, the are is quite peaceful and not far from town. Rooms are very comfortable, well designed, with comfortable beds, and proper working bathrooms. Rooms were very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only minus was that the room was very cold at night and difficult to heat. All in all, very much recommended

We stayed in the property in last week of dec and best thing is location on banks of a river,u can see stars, near amazing trek to Robber's cave and beyond and open space and u can't imagine u are just 15 min away from main city. Our host Mr Rajiv was gr8 and very well read person. Please remember it is not luxury, a nature lover's delight and not for TV maniacs (no tv in rooms but seprate facility available), anything which is missing can be arranged for.Although, I believe food can be better both in terms of variety and taste.Rest all is great and value for money.

We stayed at Rio few days ago n memories are still afresh..You are in for surprise till you reach this place. You have moutains surrounded with flowing river right in front which can be great fun specially for kids. Apart from food, best part the design of this place which has beautiful huge green lawn with spotted gazebos. Also best part is "Robbers Cave", one of the best place I have ever seen which is yet to be commercially exploited. It is at a walkable distance and surely surpirses you with a feet deep freezing "cave" water walk (around 0.5 km) till you reach huge natural fall. Also during evening, resort hosts camp fire (right in front of river), musician and screen movie. Amazing place and wishing the entire Rio team the best!!!

Nice and relaxing place, and excellent hospitality! Mr Rajeev Gupta takes care of his guests as they were long time friends, so everything you needed will be provided! I loved having dinner in the thatched huts near the river, with the "flashing" fireflies in the air. Expect to relax and have a good time. By the way: there is an ancient Shiva temple in the vicinity, and also a Gufa where some mahasiddha of the past may have lived, amazing place.

We wanted quick, refreshing office trip near Delhi. Dehradun fitted the bill, but we wanted a calm, serene place to stay away from the main city hustle. And so, Rio Resort happened to us. We reached here after a 9 hour tiring bus journey, but our fatigue was blown away by the fresh air, star-lit night sky view, sound of Tonks river flowing by, decent rooms to stay and some amazing food as we enjoyed Rio, the movie, by the river-side at the resort. Next morning, we woke up-to overnight rain. The weather was just awesome. Our planned trip to Bhatta falls was cancelled due to heavy rains there, so spent time playing cricket, football and exploring the river bank and surroundings nearby. In the evening, there was bonfire with Hindi classical songs brilliantly sung along-with
