Beyond a good stay a special mention for Pardeep Rawat an awesome guy who went out of his way to ensure we got whatever we needed even beyond his duty hours. God bless him and wish him success. The next day we reached the currency was demonetised and the credit cards did not work. Paramveer Singh at the front desk... More

Rokeby Manor brings in the old colonial charm with high ceilings and a mix of brick, stone and wooden construction. Very clean and well kept property and professional staff. The food and beverage staff would out do any premier hotels chef and staff. The check in staff can be a bit slow and relaxed so please be prepared for taking... More

Superb experience. Left lots of belongings behind So we can keep going back to meet the staff, eat great food, see the sights and pick up the stuff. Only place to meet Ruskin Bond, see the Himalayan ranges and buy great winter coats in the market.

Had a tough time deciding to go out or stay in ! Rokeby really is such a wonderful place.. especially the Rhododendron suite - with a wonderful sit out, warm and tastefully done up room. After a lot of meticulous planning, we booked Rokeby and it was delightful when we reached there. Right from arranging pick up from Dehradun station... More

we went to landour and decided to stay at Rokeby manor. Wonderful property. The Rose suite was very well appointed. They lit a super cozy fire in our room. Our little daughter has chewing issues and there staff made every effort to provide her with special food. The food at Emily's is excellent and the service by the hotel impeccable... More

The best part of this place is the fabulous location. Food is decent, can improve the quality a little. Good variety in terms of cuisine. Just loved Book collection. You can definitely visit with your family & friends.

Stayed for two days here. Property has a great colonial feeling and reminds of old days. Would be unfair to compare with 5 star hotels, or even to expect those facilities. Its a small but well placed (hill top) manor. It could use some help to improve the restaurant and serve better breakfast though. Staff is nice and courteous.

The good: The views are astonishing and the food very decent. The property has been thoughtfully restored with a lot of nice touches, like the library upstairs, the tea garden and the restaurant. The outside porch upstairs, overlooking the valley below, is an especially nice place for a spot of lunch. The town is beautiful and great for walking around.... More

Rokbey manor is a must to visit. The cafe has interesting menu and good service. The place has been renovated to retain its charm of a wooden cottage. There is a tea varendah which has lovely flowers growing round the clock. A cute corner gift shop. The rooms are also done decently.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Rokeby was built in 1840 by Captain G.N. Cauthy and is one of the landmarks of Landour. The house and two acre estate are situated slightly above and to the east of St. Paul's Church and the old cantonment parade ground, which is now Char Dukan. Like many houses in Mussoorie, its name is taken from the writings of Sir Walter Scott, whose book-length poem describes heroic battles near the original Rokeby Castle in England. Methodist missionaries continued to operate the property as a guest house throughout the rest of the 20th century. Today, Rokeby has been carefully restored to its original glory. This heritage building is resplendent with character in its elaborate brick arches and niches, intricate stone walls, real wood floors and beams, and cosy fireplaces. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, the traditions of bygone years – where colonial officers, renegade soldiers of fortune and pious miss saibs lived under one roof – can still be felt. An air of mystery beckons visitors. ... more   less
