We have stayed several times here and always great accomodation, service, breakfast and pool area. Breakfast (american) is a big selection of omelets, croissants/toasts/pastries, juices, fruits and coffee/tea. Afternoon coffee/tea with a pastry on the pool, happy hours and happy customers.

My teenage daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights in May 2017. We loved the pool, very good breakfast and central location. The staff were always happy and helpful. We loved that was not too large and would be more than happy for a...More
The rooms are huge with great air con systems which were much needed.
The pool is in a beautiful setting and the area is so quiet even though its only a 2 minute walk from the main road with all the bars and restaurants.
Have stayed here for 7 nights and cannot fault the place.

The beach is a 5 minute walk from the Bumi Ayu. there is a lane just outside that lead to the main street, turn right walk about 5 minutes and then take the lane next to the German consulate building. The night market food stall are about a 15 minute walk, turn left at the main street. best to wait until just before dark as the heat can be intense.

As the others have mentioned, it's not that far, depending on your fitness (10 to 15 mins pleasant walk). We did it a few times and walked through one of the resorts on the beach. Nobody seemed to mind and we were not approached at all.
One thing we did this time, to help us on our walks, was to use google maps on our smart phone or tablet and either of them were able to give us a travelling map location as we went (offline). This was excellent to know exactly where we were so we could follow some of the back lanes to get to places. We also stayed at a hotel on the bypass for the other half of our stay and this helped immensely. The walking in Sanur is much easier than in Kuta or Legian (less traffic and quieter)
