Upon arriving at this hotel we first thought it was a bit out of the way, however it is only a 10 minute walk to the main street if you dont mind cutting down back streets. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff are so lovely, they couldnt do enough for you. The pool is a nice size for the amount of rooms and the restaurant just next to it offered a gorgeous breakfast with lovely views. We had one of the top floor rooms and this gave an amazing view over the rice paddies and looking towards the Monkey Forest. The room was very large and the balcony was lovely. There were a few insects outside but thats as expected and we didnt have any in the room. The hotel kindly helped us get a private taxi to take us to several places around Ubud. The driver (Manchok) was amazing he charges us very little and we went everywhere we wanted. We even booked him to take us to the airport. This hotel is lovely so please dont be put off by some of the reviews, i would go back if in ubud.

I have stayed at this hotel many many times, twice a year since it opened. Yes, it’s overlooking rice paddies and fields so it’s possible to get a spider or an ant in your room, if you leave your bathroom window open, that’s possible. I personally have never seen a spider in my bathroom at Kiskenda. I am also from South Africa where it is hot and it is possible to get get insects or spiders inside. People coming from miserable cold countries don’t understand the dynamics of a hot climate but that does not take away the fact that the rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is more than adequate, a choice of juices, fruits, eggs/ rice dishes/ toast/ jams / coffee, unless you have worms that is more than one person can eat. It’s also included in the price so you can’t expect to have two breakfasts for free, be reasonable, please. The staff and owners are absolutely beautiful people, kind and hard working. Your room will always be beautiful and clean with fresh towels and linen. The gardens and pool is manicured to perfection and you will have an enjoyable stay here at Kiskenda. The restaurant serves tasty and very well priced meals, with good service. This hotel is walking distance to central Ubud and Monkey Forest Road ( just up the road you can walk through Petiwi Resorts to take you to central Monkey Forest Road) Have a great stay at Kiskenda Cottages, it’s a fabulous choice. Have a great trip.

Close to the Main Street and Walking distance to the rice field walk and the Campuhan Ridge Walk. The hotel breakfast was simple and adequate. Rooms were comfortable, clean and grounds well kept. Yoga offered at the hotel next door and lots of cafe options on this road.

It’s not far from the monkey forest but not closer either. The room is ok , but take a look to the photos and then think about it. Moreover the breakfast is really poor, you can only choose one dish and if you ask for more they will refused it... I think being hungry everyday at the breakfast when you’re on vacations is not something you looking for or what ?
