My mother, two brothers and I spent one night there during our round trip of Bali. Even though it is surrounded by rice fields it takes but ten minutes to walk to the town centre. As they do not have a restaurant, breakfast has to be ordered the evening before and is served on the porch of your room. We... More

We were here also 5 years ago but the bungalows are still in good condition. From the balcony you had a great view over the rice fields. But at this time the neighbours are making new bungalows. But the garden of Chempaka is realy wonderful. The location of Villa Chempaka is great, its on Jalan Bisma and just 15 minutes... More

We Liked that quiet and green place at Bisma Road, only 10 Minutes walk to the center. The Bungalows are clean and porch overlooks little Ponds and swimming pool and Rice paddies. The hotel manager didn't understand English so well and was not so friendly or very helpful to find your way in Ubud. The lady staff in the background... More

We loved the breakfast on the porch .... Clean rooms. Place next to the center of Ubud (5 minutes walking) WiFi not always working in villas next to the swimming pool. Small swimming pool, but ok if you just want to refresh when you get home after visiting Ubud.

This hotel is small by comparison with the others along Jalan Raja Ubud. It was tucked away from the mainstream traffic thus a quiet and peaceful sleep was assured.A stone's throw away was a local food stall at affordable price, and further down the road towards the main road were pubs and bistros. Room was clean, bed and pillows were... More

We'd walked past this place a few times over the years when staying elsewhere on Jalan Bisma including next door at Nick's. Is much better than it looks from the road (the reception area could be a brightened up a bit). A nice small pool, rooms excellent is size, friendly/responsive service and breakfast served punctually on one's porch. Very quiet,... More

My family have been staying at Villa Chempaka from time to time for almost twenty years. It now feels like coming home. My husband & I have just come back from eight days holiday, a decision made on the spur of the moment to have a break. Eight days was not enough, the peace, the beauty & gentle environment was... We heard about this place by a friend of the owner. It is the Gem that all should look for. The individual huts are clean and nicely done. There is no TV or internet...NICE! If you need that? go into the village of Ubud. Breakfast every morning on the porch. Frogs, crickets ,gecko's...& etc. singing all night and birds singing... More

We came from Nusa Dua to Ubud, after being quit disappointed with the hotel and surroundings there. We were recommend by the taxi driver to go to a road were they had small nice cottages. After looking around a bit we found this place and it was fantastic. Small authentic cottages with view over the rise fields. For us coming... More

The location of Villa Chempaka is great, its on Jalan Bisma (a parallel street to Monkey Forest Road), and just 5 minutes walking distance away from the centre of Ubud. On Jalan Bisma, a couple of nice restaurants and places to stay at, the further south, the quieter it gets. The bungalows are comfortable and clean, with a nice balcony... More

“Perhaps not one of the rooms right beside the (small) swimming pool or the very front 2 which have more passing foot traffic. The 2 beside the large fish are most idyllic and have best paddy views.”
