Nice location, cosy Balinese house. A bit dirty and we did not get the balcony we were promised. Nice staff, but skip breakfast if you don't like super sweet green pancakes and unfiltered coffee. Very cheap and close to everything Ubud has to offer.

The location is right in the center of Ubud, but still feels quiet and the rooms are spacious but very dirty, as in REALLY dirty. Staff was very pushy, they wanted to sell us trips and tickets, and we felt they stopped being nice when we didnt. breakfast was very late, not until 8.15-8.30, even though they promissed it at...

A cute, family run guesthouse tucked off the busy main road near the market in Ubud. Several generations potter about past your rooms porch if you hang around, which you likely will be tempted to do. They are genuine people and are always happy to see you. They will naturally enquire about your holiday plans and offer to help. This...

The warm and welcoming family is really interested in your journey. They offered me some tours, but I've chosen another cycling tour. There's was no problem for them as suggested in other reviews. The room was plain and simple. But aircon (not needed actually), hot water and western style toilet. I had the least luxurious room (no glass windows, just...

I had a bit of a mishap on arrival - I arrived at Raka House to be told my room had been given to someone else and was taken to another bungalow - I stayed two nights then requested to come back to Raka House as the other bungalow was not what I wanted to stay in. Was much happier...

The place itself was fine actually, breakfast was quite nice with a bowl of fresh fruit and omlette/pancake. It didn't start well with the staff though, since they took the remote for the AC although we paid for it and they tried to make us pay a higher price than the one we talked about (with AC). Next thing the...

We booked with Raka because it was mentioned in the Lonely planet. Raka owns and maintains a couple of rooms in his family compound. Raka is a friendly man who is always up for a chat, his english is not very good so make sure you understand eachother when making agreements. The good: We had a room on the 1st...

Our family of five travelled visited Ubud early in July 2014. We loved our stay at Raka House. Just six rooms at the rear of Raka's family compound, which is lovingly tended by Raka himself. We loved our homestay experience in this quiet, but very centrally located, street. Our three children loved the pool and I loved sitting with a...

My friend and I were looking for a cheap, friendly home stay in a central location while we explored Ubud. Couldn't have found a better place, Raka, his son and family are lovely, very welcoming and happy to help with anything you need! We organised a few trips with his son, but on days when we wanted to do our...
