Visited 5 years ago and stayed 6 weeks. I have just returned. Why not? Such great value! Traditional building and a pool overlooking rice fields where the sound of frogs and gecko’s sing you to sleep every night after frenetic Ubud. The owner? Could be misinterpreted as some reviewers have done. He has a dry, Bob Newhart styled humour which... More

I liked this place but have to mark it down, mainly for two reasons. Firstly the aircon was broken. They provided a fan but room was too hot. Also the actual alas lagoon was full so I was taken by scooter, haha funny experience with my large suitcase, to owners other property down the road called pandoks paradise. I didnt... More

Beautiful place, calm, and relaxing. Not too crowded. negative points: please improve the knowledge of the staffs. Some other places in Bali have very knowledgeable staffs, so normally you can make it too. but it's quite good for honeymooner.

good location. near to the Palace in a very quiet and silent rice field area. room are clean and comfortable. good breakfast. what a shame for the rude and unpolite owner and staff. They say they didn't want prepare breakfast half an hour in advance of the agreed hour (7 instead of 7,30) ONLY because we didn't agreed with them... More

You can fall asleep to the sound of nature in the rice fields. Perfect location for exploring Ubud. Close to the main road and walking distance to all Ubud sights, including monkey forest. The family that owns Ala's is really nice. They made us feel extremely welcome. Room we stayed in was large and clean and they brought in an... More

What a great find in Ubud and definitely will be on our 'back to' list. Perfect location among the rice paddies for that secluded feeling but just a short stroll into the cut and thrust of the tourist precinct. Easy morning walk to the Yoga Barn and myriad other wellness options and tucked just back from Jalan Bisma with plenty... More

Traveling solo, and walking in off the street, it was a little higher than my usual budget but I thought worth it for the extras like tea and breakfast delivered, serenity and wifi. If you just want to sit and read etc, looking out over the rice fields, enjoying fireflies and frogs chirping the upper floors are ideal. It's close... More

What a great getaway! We were a family of three staying at Ala's Green Lagoon for two nights. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfy/clean/big and nicely decorated (traditional Balinese style). The location is absolutely amazing - surrounded by perfect green rice fields. Even though it is only a short walk to Ubud central, this hotel seems miles... More

We stayed here for the second time (also two years ago) and we really like this place. The views of the ricefields are amazing, the breakfast is good and the rooms are spacious and nice. The hosts are very nice but the family can be a bit loud ( we didnt mind). The pool is nice and overlooks the ricefields.... More

Good hotel. Clean and great location. The breakfast is ok, and served whenever you like. The pool is very small but useful to cool down after wandering around the local area. Pretty decoration. Ubud area is interesting. For a great and conscientious tour of local villages, check out JED tours.
