I think because they were overbooked we were given the art studio down the bottom of the complex. We did go on a bug spray mission and then had to live with all the dead bugs during our stay, the bathroom was pretty gross and there was a room attached to the studio that was only separated by a curtain...

I loved my light, airy bungalow with a view over trees and rooftops. Mine was fan only so was rather hot at this time of year. It was in traditional Balinese style with bamboo furniture and ornate carved door and shutters. It also had french doors opening onto a small balcony. The grounds were lovely with various caged birds and...

We stayed for 2 nights in the second story room and loved the rooftop view. The cottages are perfectly located in the middle of downtown Ubud but are protected from the street noise. There was enough hot water for two people to shower, albeit shortly, back to back. The air conditioning worked well and I even made the room too...

When I first wandered into Agung cottages, I was greeted by the husband and wife owners with wide smiles. Rooms are spacious with verandahs and cheap at 300,000/ night. I wanted it the next day and the husband asked me to leave 300,000 as a deposit. Naively I agreed. When I returned the following day, I realised the room had...

The grounds of agung cottages are just great. We booked the second story bungalow basically for the view. Cost us 300,000 for a night. The room was decently clean though the sheets probably hadn't been changed. We ended up taking cold showers as the owner didn't tell us you need to leave the water running for like 15 minutes before...

We didn't enjoy our stay in the Agung cottages. Although the location is quite good, the owner did not behave correctly. We needed a place fast as we arrived tired from the Mt. Batur trekking. He charged 350,000 rp, a high season price saying the breakfast was included, so we finally said ok. The breakfast finally was very poor: it...

If you're looking for budget accommodation in a quiet location in central Ubud, this is a good choice. Spacious room with fan overlooking the roof tops of Jalan Monkey Forest, beautiful garden and big porch. When I was staying there was construction work going on outside but it didn't bother me. You get what you pay for though: the bedlinen...

I checked in one afternoon upon the recommendation of a friend who had stayed in the same room a couple of weeks earlier. I thought the family was very friendly and helpful and the view from the patio of the room I had was very nice. The room itself was simple, but clean and I had no issues with the...

This quite oasis with clean apartments with your own porch has clean, big rooms situated in a beautiful garden. The breakfast is included and delicious. Don't leave without trying the French toast! The owner and his family are very friendly and helpful. It is located in the centre of Ubud and there are 2 restaurants across the street that serve...

“My room smelt of mould despite being above ground and having large windows. I didn't notice it the first time I went so it may have been aired out.”

“our apartment was in the garden at street level with aircon and hot water. although relatively expensive (Rs. 400.000/night, excluding tax, but including breakfast) we were vey happy with it. We also saw the room for 350.000/night one level below, but we found that our room was definitely worth the extra money.”
