Great experience!! We stayed 3 nights in this hotel during a holiday in Bali in August (2024) and everything was perfect. The rooms are modern, clean, welcoming, equipped with comfort and small attentions: 4 bottles of water per day, a mini bar with drinks included in the price, herbal teas, coffee and kettle in the room.
Breakfast is delicious with various choices from sweet to savory and a great cappuccino as in Italy. We also took advantage of the takeaway breakfast that is offered in three options that you can order the day before (juices, croissants, bread and jam, Danish swirls, yogurt, cereals, fruit...) even dinner is superb, with both international and Indonesian dishes, and in fact we chose to dine at the hotel two out of three nights!
The staff in the reception room is friendly, attentive, kind and speaks perfect English. If we return to Bali we will definitely be their customers again.

A wonderful oasis of calm amid the bustle of Ubud, this was a perfect base to rest and regenerate between sightseeing around Ubud and the local area.
The pools were quiet, no lounger hogging and the grounds were beautiful.
We had a suite for our family of four, which was enormous and luxuriously kitted out. Even the toiletries were wonderful.
The food in the restaurants was more expensive than outside the hotel which is to be expected, but was of really excellent quality - even the poolside bar menu.
We were given complimentary Balinese massage which was blissful.
I couldn't recommend this highly enough for those wanting a high end experience to complement their exploration of Bali.

What made it very special was how friendly and helpful all the staff were, even the groundskeepers had a smile and word of welcome. As first-time travellers to Bali we really felt reassured if there were any problems the staff would help us, including booking drivers and tours if we wanted (although we already had this organised).

Complimentary mineral water generously and frequently replaced in the room and insect repellent in the room were helpful touches!

We visited in March .We were welcomed with refreshing wet towels and a welcome drink which was a good gesture considering the hot weather . The resort is huge it has two swimming pools which unfortunately I didn’t use but watched many guests enjoying . Got a room quite far from reception and lost my way getting back .
The breakfast area is open on both ends, one facing the pool and the other end , the road . The breakfast spread is limited for Indian vegetarians . Whatever I ate was tasty and fresh . The buffet offers breads. Variety of egg options, cut fruit, cold cuts , tasty bacon .The local breakfast option is very tasty especially the rice / noodles with sambal . They have both a la carte and buffet options .They also have a one time offer of tea / coffee with local snacks during the stay . Their cappuccino is the best I have ever tasted . Really Superb !!!The staff are friendly and helpful . I can’t remember the name , she gave me the recipe of Sambal .

The room booked was very spacious with a balcony with seating overlooking greenery . The body lotion had a lovely aroma and great moisturising ,it was available for purchase too .The shower area has both a hand and overhead shower with nice hot water with good water pressure . Generally products provided were awesome . The room also had a tub outside the bath area . Sufficient drinking water and a free minibar with soft drinks was an added touch . Sleep quality is great , the beds are very comfortable compared to other hotels .
The spa service is great and very professional . I opted for a Da La spa and a 1 hr foot massage was opted by my partner both were great . They provided a special offer for guests .
The hotel has a tie up with several restaurants such as Pison which has delicious meals. Ordered most food from there . The other restaurants are local and Japanese cuisine .

The hotel is located close to a night food market which I missed . Several others spas and dining options are available in close proximity. Monkey forest is situated very close by .
Overall a good stay .

My wife and I stayed 5 nights at Alaya Resort in May, which was our second stop on a four location trip to Bali and Nusa Lembongan. Alaya is perfectly located in central Ubud, which was one of the reasons why chose Alaya. We were pleased to be given the room we requested, on the second floor overlooking the pool, so why did we feel somewhat underwhelmed by it all? Alaya is a big resort and somewhat generic, despite the attempt to make it look unique with the bamboo facade on all the concrete buildings. Our room was clean and spacious, as was the balcony, yet the bathroom design is a little odd and the decor rather dated. The bed was very comfortable. The grounds and gardens are nice but not great, and the pools are also quite nice but not beautiful. Pool loungers were in pretty good condition. Staff were lovely of course (which is always the way in Bali) and the housekeeping team did a great job. We chose not to include the breakfast in our booking (because Ubud has such an array of fabulous eateries and we wanted to try somewhere new each day) so I can't comment on the food at Alaya's Brasserie, but I was pleased to see that they offer an a-la-carte option (and not just the ubiquitous buffet). I can highly recommend the breakfast at Pisson next door and Sally's Kitchen, on the other side, is a very pleasant place for a casual dinner. There have been so many glowing reviews for Alaya Resort on TA, so maybe I am missing something, or maybe I was just wanting something that Alaya is not, a 'special character' boutique hotel.

Wow from the moment you’re in the door. Came for honeymoon. Upgraded complimentarily. Welcoming & attentive staff. The strip is on your doorstep if you want to walk out and see the choice of restaurants. Rooms are spotless. 4 complimentary bottles waters were provided everyday so you can take these to the pool or restaurant to save money. 4 restaurants on site including pool bar which does a different menu, all lovely! Monkey Forrest is walking distance! Complex is huge! Has two pools with enough beds! Amazing gym! If your flight is late then you can check out and use their shower rooms which are spotless and hidden away from public really to change before departure if you want to use the facilities still.

Stayed here for only 3 nights as last part of our vacation around Bali.
Great location with plenty of restaurants, shops close by.
Room was very spacious, clean, only downside for me personally is little to dark/old traditional fashioned (dark wood furniture) but well laid out. Great terrace and good facilities in the room.
Separate Shower and huge round bath, both very clean and good functionality.
Bottled water supplied and replenished without any issues.
Food in restaurant was very good and the staff so amazing and friendly, very eager to please and ensure all your needs met, special mention to Sumi she was outstanding.
Pool area very good, no issues for loungers/towels etc and good waiter/waitress service provided.
Location we found out for us was very good, literally 10 mins walk (slow) to monkey forest, supermarket less than 5 mins away.
If coming back to Ubud area would certainly use this hotel again without hesitation.

It was truly a magical experience. From the kindest of staff to the luxurious qualities, we enjoyed every moment. Great and well sanitized food is accompanied by a pool overlooking rice fields. This resort is near paradise, and the most unpleasant experience was saying goodbye.

The concept behind this hotel offers a stay in an oasis of elegant tranquility. Ubud is a very touristy city, but as soon as you cross the threshold of the hotel you find yourself in a typically Balinese structure, where there are not too many walls, but only beautiful rooms all overlooking the swimming pool among a beautiful garden and rice fields, where integration with nature is successful.
The staff is attentive and always welcoming. We were often asked if everything was going well or if we had any complaints.
The breakfast is varied, without being excessive and the restaurants in the structure have a good offer, with prices that are not high, in line with those of a similar category. The only advice I could give, in addition to absolutely choosing this hotel, is for those who need a triple room: the additional bed in the double room is a bit bulky, even if the room is large, consider letting him sleep if you have a child in the double bed with you, because it is very spacious (even for 3 people) or if you take a family room. For my seven year old nephew, the parents chose to have the bed taken away.

This hotel is next to Coco Supermarket (sorry for the random wording), which occupies the four corners of the center of Ubud along with the town hall, the royal palace, and the monkey forest.

Ubud is said to be fun to walk around, but most large hotels are far from the city, there are few shuttle buses, and it becomes a hassle to call a taxi after a while. However, here, once you step out of the hotel, you are already in the center of Ubud. Despite that, you can't hear the sounds of the city from the rooms, and there are rice terraces within the facility, so you can enjoy the resort atmosphere.

The highly rated Mandara Spa, which is visited by people other than hotel guests, also has excellent service. There are six types of oil to choose from, and you can choose the background music during the treatment. The two restaurants (cafe bar and Asian cuisine) also have many unique menus and are recommended. It seems that a Japanese restaurant will be opening soon, which is also likely to be popular.

Location
As mentioned above, it is located in the center of Ubud (at the four corners), so you can walk to anywhere in the center. Furthermore, when going south (towards the sea), the roads become wider, so you won't encounter traffic jams. On the other hand, when moving north, you will be caught in traffic jams in the center.

Points to note: There is no room charge for the spa or restaurant. You can make a reservation and of course use a credit card, so it's not a problem. Also, the toilet and bathroom are separated by a curtain instead of a door, which may be a concern for some people. As others have written, the rooms on the first floor are completely visible from the walking path (although there aren't many people walking around), so if you are concerned about this, you may want to choose the second floor.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights as part of our tour. The hotel is very centrally located in Ubud and there are many restaurants nearby.

Our room was on the ground floor with a view of the (non-existent) rice fields. The room was very nice, unfortunately the sink area was very small and there wasn't much storage space. We found the huge area next to the shower strange - according to the website, the bathtub is usually here, but in our case this area was simply empty - unused.

We also found the deposit to buy something in the room strange (1,000,000 IDR). In principle, this is fine, but unfortunately we weren't told that you can only eat/drink in one restaurant (brasserie) and the pool bar with this deposit and have to pay at the other restaurants. We found that out ourselves. If we had known that, we wouldn't have used the deposit.

The food in the brasserie - as well as the breakfast there - were very good. You could order as much a la carte as you wanted (at breakfast). The food and drink prices were (as in all hotels) quite a bit more expensive than in the restaurants outside. The service here was sometimes a bit slow, even when there wasn't much going on; but that was the case almost everywhere in Bali - probably the Asian coziness.

The hotel is really well located for excursions in and around Ubud.

Correct. I don't think it has a shuttle but the location is quite central. Markets are walking distance and so is the Palace. I think its about 20min walk to Palace.
