This hotel is a historic building and a must see if you are interested in the colonial history of the Netherlands in Indonesia. The former Oranje Hotel has a beautiful garden and like the building itself is well maintained. Drink a tea outside and time travel to the early 20th century!!

Yes an Old Hotel, Heritage and listed! One of the top 4 hotels is South East Asia: Raffles, Strand, E&O & Majapahit (former Oranje Hotel: built in 1910) and all owned originally by the infamous Sarkies Brothers. So yes a lot of history, vintage moments and a true legend... George Hazard / General Manager

Despite the fact that this hotel is pretty famous among the local for its haunted stories, I pretty much enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Room is really spacious and high in quality for a very good deal of price (even for Surabaya's standard). The breakfast buffet was also pretty good and offers you quite some selection of breakfast choices....

The Majapahit is a prime example of old world charm, fantastic architecture with magnificent garden and facilities. The staff all speak excellent english and are extremely friendly and helpful. A good selection of food at the restaurants and the buffet breakfast is world class. Several function rooms are available for business or pleasure, We had our wedding there and the...

The hotel is full of history and character. Our suite was really spacious and we enjoyed the total quiet! We were made very welcome. Being invited to the drinks and canapes pre-dinner reception was a nice touch. Our only criticism was of the inflexible check in procedure - I was sick on arrival (with a fever) and really needed to...

We visited the Hotel Majahapit for high tea on the recommendation of a local guide (Pak Graeme of Authentic Java Tours), who includes this magnificent hotel as part of his Old Surabaya City tour. I am SO glad we did - what a treat! We sat in the Lobby Lounge for the high tea and enjoyed a lovely selection of...

Stayed for just two days but was mesmerised by the beauty of this hotel. Royal looks and services along with amazing views. Should travel with a group rather than travelling alone. Next November: two days stay is for sure !!!

We stayed here for night over the weekend and it was a most memorable experience. The hotel is a huge old colonial gem which was built by the Sarkie Brothers in 1910. It has been tastefully restored whilst attempting to maintain a distinctly colonial feel. The rooms are spacious, if a little dark, and I suspect locals would be deterred...

Spent 4 nights here for business..it is a beautiful hotel with an interesting history ( that you can discover on your own). The breakfast buffet is the most expansive I have ever seen..all food was top notch...I can't say enough about the staff- personable, professional, helpful, to name a few attributes. Treat yourself and stay here.
