Sleep quality this time was really bad. Mosquitos are summing around all night long. Sure, the room service knocks EVERY single evening on your do (also annoying) and asks if they should spray and also mosquito spray and repellent are available in the room, but it doesn't help, if you still cannot sleep. Rest of the hotel is good. Water... More

Thank you for your review... Insects in a sub-tropical environment will always be a challenge and we keep performing necessary tasks to fight off this seasonal phenomenon: as a standard procedure we are fogging our space every day, we supply repellent in all rooms and in all our facilities. We have just gone through the mosquito season and things have... More

This is a 5 Star Hotel that tells much about Surabaya's History. The rooms are spacious and clean. Their lawns are very well kept and they have a great pool and a fair enough gym. Their buffet breakfast and food is OK. It's very near Tunjungan Plaza which is a plus! I would highly recommend it!

Caught by surprise by a big teenage party taking place in the garden right in the centre of the hotel and amidst the hotel rooms. Very loud music and a hundred plus teenagers hanging around till late at night. Always nice when staying with a family with young children that cannot sleep through the techno music and in the mean... More

Thank you for taking the time to convey your disappointment during your stay at our hotel. A party celebration caused some noise disturbance until 10pm and we are sorry that you were inconvenienced. In fact we had no alternative than holding this event in our ballroom as the intended location in our gardens couldn't be used due to heavy raining... More

This is a beautifully restored Dutch colonial hotel built in 1910 and restored in the 90's. The room was spacious with a sitting area and King bed. Big bathroom with walk-in shower. The wifi works well. The rooms are situated around manicured courtyards. Gorgeous plantings. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a great variety and was delicious. What a... More

The hotel was breathtaking. I loved that the hotel had not lost its character and I felt that I was in Surabaya and not just in another hotel - this hotel has a definite character all of its own. The staff were outstanding - every request was met with enthusiasm and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious... More

This hotel and grounds are breathtakingly beautiful - words really can't describe how loverly this place is! The hotel is steeped in history and it is a blast from the past, with memories of both the Dutch Colonial days and Japanese occupation, amongst some of the things that it is remembered for. However, foremost in the hearts of the people... More

The Majapahit is an importpart part of Indonesian history so I wanted to stay here when I visited Surabaya. And it was well worth it as it's like being transported back in time to the early 20th century when the Netherlands still ruled over this vast land. Thankfully the rooms have been updated from that time. Good size, comfortable bed,... More
