Located in the heart of Surabaya city, Majapahit Hotel has an original colonial architecture and is heavy with historical value. The building is a low rise building with all teraces looking towards the garden. It is a nice place to stay for those who likes to leisure, enjoying spa and nice spot for picture taking. A lot of wedding parties...

Indeed our hotel is the prime location in Surabaya for photo taking. Most of visitors to the city will end up at the Majaphit to reflect on its history, its heritage and its grandeur. We are glad to read that you fell under the charms... George Hazard / General Manager

Taking a tour of the city and just had to stop at this historic hotel -- built in 1910 -- art nouveau style-- by Lucas Martin Sarkies. Had some drinks and purchased a beautiful silk Indonesian shirt. The service was very good. Hotel was renovated back in 2009 and took 4 years to complete.

Think about just about any hotel you have been in, from Oslo to Dallas, to Moscow and Seoul. . . when you open the door of your room, what do you see? The same dreary hotel corridoor. The decor may change from place to place slightly, but it's still just a corridoor. At the Majapahit, when you open the door...

We had only one night stay but was certainly impressed with the quality of the hotel. We had the room with the garden view and it was spacious and clean. The colonial architecture certainly made the hotel more attractive and unique. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and they are well-versed in English. Wifi is also offered all around...

We had a wonderful two-night stay at this flagship of heritage hospitality in Asia. We stayed in a executive suite located on a second floor. Majapahit Hotel, sorry for the cliche, is a place with a strong identity. It is worth reading a bit about its history. Yes furniture in this hotel is really classic (yet not dated), and so...

Historically the Majapahit was one of the grand old hotels of east Asia, and thankfully the modern version does justice to its former glory. This is a beautiful hotel, which oozes the elegant charm of its yesteryear. It sits comfortably in the same bracket as some of the other great restored hotels around the region, such as Raffles in Singapore,...

Thanks for your great review. We are glad to read that you felt the weight of Majapahit's historical past during your stay. Why don't you try Suite 33 next time? Suite 33 was also occupied by Charlie Chaplin when he inaugurated the hotel extension in 1936. A historical hotel indeed... George Hazard / General Manager

The hotel was quiet, peaceful and felt pristine clean after three days on a super dusty road trip to visit two volcanos. We needed this hotel badly! Loved the green expansive manicured lawn. It was a pleasure walking the grounds. We booked an executive suite, which easily accommodated the three of us. My friends enjoyed a soak in the jacuzzi...
