This is a difficult review to write. There are a lot of contradictions here. The hotel is comprised of two historic buildings put together. There are nice, if not particularly inviting common areas, a wonderful and very ancient wine bar, and a very nice common table breakfast room. The hotel is in an "authentic" neighborhood, and you traverse some narrow...

This hotel is completely over rated for the price and the hype. While perhaps the best hotel in Acre, it probably is worth going out of your way to not stay the night if this is the best accommodation available. First, check in was met with a reasonably professional desk staff. If jeans and t shirts are what you are...

Dear Sir, Thank you for staying with us and for the comments. while some of the comments were taken into deep consideration, I felt I had to address others. Being a boutique hotel that takes pride in its home-like hospitality and cozy ambience, the staff does not have a standard uniform as expected, as we want the staff and guests...

We went there for drinks just before sunset. Amazing view of the sea together with old Acre and Haifa bay. Make sure you tour the hotel if you don't stay there. Worth seeing the wine cellar (900 years old !).

From the moment you walk in the front door you feel that this is a special place. The service is excellent and the rooms a dream. Have had the privilege to stay 6 different times this year at this wonderful hotel and every time in different rooms and since the hotel only has 12 rooms, think I can say- all...

I am so happy I took the time to go north to Acre and discover the magical charm that Uri Jeremias offers to visitors. The amount of work and detail that went into this hotel is exceptional, and the staff are incredibly attentive. The original Hammam is so beautiful and is a great experience to receive the classic Hammam treatment....

Nothing could have prepared me for this hidden gem in Acre (or Akko as it is called in Israel). It is located in a narrow alley and not auspicious in any way, until you get to the front door. Then inside the foyer you begin to realize just how much work and care has gone into this amazing restoration. The...

Apparently it took 7 years for Uri Buri to renovate these two town houses and the public spaces it provides upstairs are fabulous, wide balconies, light and airy seating areas and our room was huge. The breakfast is good - you can ask for what you want and everyone sits at one long table. As it is a boutique hotel...

Akko is a very old and historical harbor town. The old city is very interesting ,there is a variety of good food in town .You can visit the various markets ,there are extremely interesting museums and other interesting things to see.The hotel itself was reconstructed in the very old style, perfectly fitting inits surrounding.

Great atmosphere in the old city! A bit difficult to find but definitely worth the effort....... don't forget to try the tasting menu at Uri Buri! Breakfast is a delicious local treat combined with rooms that make you feel like the king of the castle!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the picturesque narrow lanes of Acre, the Efendi Hotel overlooks the historic city walls and the magnificent Mediterranean Sea beyond. The unique structure of this hotel combines two ancient houses that have hundreds of years of history stored within their walls. These houses were meticulously reconstructed and merged into one building before being converted into a boutique hotel.. Complex preservation and restoration work over a period of eight years gave birth to a gorgeous, breathtaking pearl that was truly a labor of love. Thought was invested in each and every detail of the preservation work, which was performed under the supervision of the Antiquities Authority. Artisans were specially flown in from Italy in order to undertake this delicate work, as well as the restoration of the beautiful ceilings. All rooms in the hotel are furnished and equipped to the highest standards, and each room has its own unique character and style. Some rooms' ceilings feature illustrations, while others are made from preserved wood. Most of the windows offer sea views, while others look out over the ancient city of Acre and the scenic mountains of the Western Galilee. ... more   less
