Thoroughly loved everything about this place and our two night stay! We stayed in the ground level room, as my husband does not do steps very well....there is no elevator. The host was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was wonderful, the location is the best for visiting Carlsbad or Roswell, there is a lovely upstairs patio....just right for evening...

We wanted to visit Carlsbad Caverns, but really, the reviews for hotels closer in Carlsbad itself weren't inspiring. We decided to stay in Artesia and drive the hour to the caverns. We were very glad we did! Although Artesia itself isn't spectacular, the Heritage was wonderful. We had a delightful room and even though it was full occupancy, we didn't...

We called the hotel when we were about 2 hours west of Artesia to see if they had rooms which they did. When we showed up around 11-11:30pm the couple running the Inn were awake and super nice to us. The next morning they had a perfect breakfast spread with breakfast sandwiches! We chatted with the gentleman running the Inn...

This is a lovely boutique hotel with plenty of old world charm. The furnishings make you feel like you are stepping back in time. There is a bag of the state cookie of New Mexico provided in the room upon arrival, and they are quite tasty. The toiletries provided are very nice and the soft sheets and thick towels are...

Carlsbad Caverns are fantastic. However, finding good, safe and affordable accommodations are problematic in Carlsbad, NM. The energy boom makes many hotels there very expensive, noisy and almost fully occupied with workers [just read a few Trip Advisor reviews]. A solution is to stay in Artesia, NM. It is 35 miles on the highway North of Carlsbad. The Inn is...

I really loved the Heritage Inn! Every detail is thought of, from complimentary cookies at check-in, to bottled water, to a snack pantry (snacks for a small fee), different types of pillows, nice toiletries in the bathroom (even a mini sewing kit!) The room was totally comfortable and everything was sparkling clean. There is even a lovely patio to allow...

Nice place to stay. Rooms were comfortable Breakfast was good Location good. Only fault is all but one room are up a long flight of stairs and cases get heavy before the top for us oldies. My suggestion was one of those electric stair lifts that go up stairs even for the cases.

We met my cousin and his wife here, so that we had a base to go down to visit Carlsbad Caverns. They had a larger room facing the main street, but found that the traffic noise was irritating as they live in a quiet mountain home. We had one of the smaller side rooms facing out over the car park...

I recently stayed at the Heritage Inn in Artesia, NM. Unfortunately, my visit was not for pleasure but rather honoring the memory of an American hero whose life was taken while serving our country in Afghanistan. I could not have chosen a better place to stay. Staff was pleasant, kind and helpful. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. My room...

Spent Memorial Day weekend here. Half way between Carlsbad & Roswell. Stayed in room 11 - it can sleep 2 adults & 2 teenage kids (on queen sleeper sofa). It even has kitchen in this room. The free breakfast was great - Paninis - always fresh fruit & more. Free bottle water & cookies upon check in & microwave popcorn...
