Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We had a two night stay here and found our room to be clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed. The location is perfect, very central but just off the main drag so relatively peaceful. The breakfast was delicious and we ate next door one night at Crab & Co which was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay in Galle Fort.

I stayed for a couple of days here in November 2019. It was an extended academic trip to Sri Lanka and Galle was one of the pit-stops. The spaces are very well designed, luxurious rooms, and the staff goes out of their way to make us feel welcome. Special kudos to Ismail. The manager was uber helpful too.

Had the pleasure of spending a few days at this gorgeous boutique hotel in Gall Fort. We never for a moment regretted our decision to try out this hotel, In fact we were glad we had found a jewel by chance. The building itself is a heritage property and has been tastefully renovated to provide first class modern amenities in a historically pleasant environment. The rooms are smart and clean and to top it all the sevice is impeccable. The hotel has a smart restaurant and serves a selection of dishes to satisfay all tastes. The hotel is managed by a professional manager - Pramuk, He goes out of his way to ensure your stay at the hotel is a pleasant experience . He keeps a watch over everything and has a very pleasant personality. Even the other staff in the hotel make sure the residents are well looked after. One of them, Ismail, serves at the restaurant and ensures you leave their restauranr fully satisfied and longing to experience it again. Only suggestion I could offer to improve the hotel would be to maintain the small lawn between the rooms. A well maintained small garden patch would certainly add to the beauty of this hotel Thanks to all at this hotel for making our visit such a comforable & memorable one.

A long overdue review of the beautiful boutique hotel The Bungalow! We stayed for five nights over Christmas and had the most relaxing time. Rooms were large and nicely done up. The restaurant was very welcoming and cosy, serving tasty local and international dishes. We especially enjoyed having breakfast at the small table facing the little garden. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious! A special thank you to some of the staff, Amri and Piumi, who went out of their way to make our stay special.

If you are looking for a gateway from all the hustle and bustle, then the Bungalow is the ideal location. Its a little patch of heaven that is located in the heart of Galle Fort.
The architecture and ambiance tells it's own story. It was truly wonderful to find that the management had taken all initiatives to preserve the history of the location.
We were greeted by Abdul and Ismail who are experts in Sri Lankan hospitality. Never did they hesitate to go the extra mile and make sure our stay was comfortable and relaxed.
We possibly could not pick a favourite item from the menu because every dish was so perfectly prepared and the taste was divine.
There is no doubt that we will be visiting the Bungalow again (hopefully soon)!

As we embraced the global pandemic and slowly started running out of options for good places to eat out, we stumbled across this gem inside the Galle Fort that welcomed us with elegance, served us with care and provided us with a chilled out ambience that was perfect enough to spark some romance. The location was perfect and the menu was just right. We ordered the Tom Yam Koon with jasmine rice and boy if boy! It was Awesome! Our toddler ate an entire plate of creamy chicken pasta which was all we needed! We are so grateful for the experience in these times. Ismael the Manager was so pleasant, kind and so so polite. It's hard to find all of that in one guy nowadays. Danushka the cook is incredible with what he does adding fusion to world renown dishes. He got skills that are unmatched. We are hooked! We actually have declared it as our favorite family hangout!

We stayed at The Bungalow for 2 nights and we had a very pleasant experience at this gorgeous quaint boutique hotel. It is so peaceful and you simply cannot get enough of its delicious food so much so that we dined at the hotel’s restaurant on both nights. The food was well prepared, beautifully presented and tasted awesome. So, if you're keen on having a relaxing escape while enjoying a homelike stay in an exquisite, historic bungalow, this is just the place to be. Pramuk, the Manager and all the staff are absolutely wonderful and accommodating.

We stayed there over the holidays, not what we imagined it to be, lots of bugs and mosquitos in the room, aircon was not very effective, sheets were stained and the water ran out on a few occasions. On the plus side the food was excellent and the staff are very nice and accommodating. Has potential to be a great place if they can fix the basics.

The position inside the Galle Fort is very good and practicable for a fantastic stay in Galle Fort with many restaurants, bars and shops. The Bungalow is a very beatiful accomodation with 7 rooms in an old dutch building. The staff was very polite and very attentive. In particular Amri's support was appropriate at every time. Breakfast is highly recommended.

This 300 year old protected property in Galle Fort has been sympathetically and luxuriously renovated, brilliant location and super friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is excellent and rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and quiet. Also super comfy bed and powerful shower. Our breakfast was included and it was very nice although choice a little limited. Perfect location for exploring the Fort, lots of eateries, coffee shops, bars and shopping opportunities in the immediate vicinity.
