This is a real boutique hotel with loads of charm! This hotel is Walking distance from all the locations within galle fort and conveniently located steps away from major restaurants and shopping in a very quiet location.
The staff is well trained and extremely helpful. They make your stay a pleasure!
The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with all modern amenities and ambience of any big hotel chain.
We loved the food and beverage here, though there is no alcohol served in the hotel due to its location next to a school ( by law) their mocktails and juices make up for it. The included Sri Lankan breakfast which we had on the first day was superb! They also do serve continental breakfast should you want that. However I would recommend you try Sri Lankan breakfast atleast one day. The rates at the hotel for Food and Beverage are quite reasonable and the quality and taste is good. On the last day we had a sea food platter here, it was fantastic.
If you plan to come to galle and stay in the Fort area and looking for a reliable choice then I would highly recommend you stay at Yara!

This relatively new hotel is beautifully designed and laid out and is in a peaceful location but close to all the charm and sites in the Fort. We got a low price deal £52 for a superior room which was a bargain for the quality of the room and the service and breakfast that was included. The service was friendly and efficient and the hotel is very well run. A gem of a hotel that would be my first choice for Galle.

We just returned from a weekend stay at Yara Galle Fort
A hotel not much known and mentioned in the mainstream but when I saw the pictures, I was very keen to check out
1st things 1st. The hotel was very affordable and almost at the low budget rates for a hotel on B&B double. Not too sure this was due to a promo going on but Dec - Apr is normally the peak season for tourism in SL
The rooms we got wasn't too spacious but they were nicely furnished, Air conditioned and the bathrooms were with all the amenities you would find even at a mainstream hotel
Breakfast was a limited Menu but we were served as much as we wanted. Food was very tasty too
Couple of bitter experiences were,
1.We were travelling with a 3 year Old and it did not take too long for the manager to sound his displeasure for my kid running around. The kid wasn't causing trouble to anyone or knocking on doors but when you have wooden flooring, you are bound to find walking to be a bit loud (irrespective of that being a kid or an adult)
2. The hotel has no parking slots available. The public car park in-front did not allow us to park till 6.30pm so we had to block either the hotel entrance or find roadside parking which wasn't secure at all
We may not return to this hotel in future due to this but the overall stay was a god one

Dear Gunegrams, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Yara. With regards to the incident with the accompanied child, please do note that we at Yara happily welcome kids from all ages, however be it a child or an adult running up and down the corridor, the act would certainly generate certain level of noise therefore disturb anyone on the ground floor. You would have experienced the noise if you had stayed on the ground floor. Our only intention was to make sure all our current guest was having a pleasant stay. We humbly apologize if we created a bitter experience for you. Most of the hotels and restaurants situated within Galle Fort do not have their own parking space however Yara is blessed to have a parking space right in front of the premises and the parking space is situated alongside the Galle Fort Army Camp entrance which is manned 24/7 with additional 2 CCTV camera's of the hotel covers the parking space as well therefore making it a highly secure public parking space. We wished you had reached out to us regarding the issue you had of overnight parking as most of our staff and guest have their vehicles parked overnight. We hope you will give our Hotel another opportunity to serve you better, till then take care and happy travels!

Me and my Family stayed at this Beautiful boutique hotel for two nights. A relatively new hotel with modern, well designed, clean rooms and amenities . Located inside Galle fort itself, thereby with easy access to most of the historic places. Stayed in a room in the 2nd floor, at night you will be able to see the light beam of the lighthouse.
Hotel offers a high tea where you can sit back relax and enjoy some delicious food. Their restaurant offered some good breakfast too.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. My special thanks to Mr Pushpakumara, who provided us outstanding service. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful quaint hotel very boutique, wonderfully attentive service. Our room was beautifully decorated in blue and white and the bathroom was very nice with good water pressure. There is a gorgeous frangipani courtyard to eat in and location is central to all the attractions of old town. Very clean and lovely to stay in. As advertised no alcohol on premises but with so many hotels near by we honestly didn't even notice.

I booked a Superior Double Room for 3 nights
Hotel is within the Galle Fort walls and the hotel building itself is very nicely presented.
Upon checking in we were allocated the Duplex Room which is situated just inside the front doors and overlooks the restaurant. I did not check my booking details and realise this was not what I had booked). The Duplex Room is very nice but the bathroom is down stairs (two flights) but the main issue was the noise from the restaurant which the bedroom window overlooks. Noise from the restaurant and the staff clearing up after service kept us awake - which was quite annoying.
The following day we asked to move rooms and initially they tried to put us in a Double Room rather than the Superior Double which I had booked. After discussion and time spent packing up again we were allocated the correct room.
This saga was annoying as it cost us sleep and time and it would appear as they had overbooked the Superior Rooms we were put into the Duplex Room.
The allocated room was very nice. It was clean, tastefully furnished and quiet.
Breakfast was served in the pleasant courtyard and was acceptable.
Note: There is no alcohol served at the bar / restaurant of this hotel.
The day before we departed I ordered two take away breakfast as were were leaving at 6am. In the morning there were no breakfast packages and in fact no staff around at all. This was disappointing so we ended up spending $30.00 on some dried out tasteless food at the airport.
If the staff had got the details correct with the bookings (room and breakfast) I would recommend this hotel.

We booked the hotel for SL vs AUS match and had to postpone by a week and rescheduled to to watch Sri Lanka Pakistan match in July. They offered the same promo deals we booked the hotel for though we never reminded them about it. It was a great and memorable stay. Specially to mention the service and friendly staff. Superb food! It’s has 5-Star facilities in boutique form. Located in the heart of Galle city and all excursions are just 3 minutes walk away.

Just inside the walled fort, quiet street but easy enough to get tuktuks here and there.
Very pleasant hotel, decent size clean, fresh room (a/c was absent from bathroom, thus useful for drying clothes).
Breakfast was cooked to order, a choice of western or Sri Lankan meals (latter ordered in advance). All good quality.
Staff very helpful, courteous and pleasant at all times. Would certainly go here if we return to Galle.

It was my first visit to Yara restaurant, I,m extremely happy to share my possitive feedback via trip advisor. The high tea was awesome, especially the ribbon cake was
yummy yummy. Service outstanding and entire aria was supper clean.
My special thanks to Mr Lakshan, Mr Lakkana and Mr Pushpakumara who provide us outstanding service we will definitely return soon .
