Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
It's a new property so everything is in good shape. It has its own decent sized swimming pool as well. The rooms are spacious and so are the bathrooms. There is a large private balcony attached to the first floor rooms. Our check in process was smooth and we were offered fresh pineapple juice as a welcome drink. The staff are smiling and helpful. Breakfast was made when you sat at the table. It was sufficient though limited in choice. It's a nice place to just have a few beers, chill, and sit in the pool.
A few things to keep in mind:
Please give advance notice if you want to have dinner at the property. The hotel is a bit far from the Galle Fort but not that far that it'd be a deal breaker. Internet was patchy throughout our stay.
It's a good idea to buy a local sim with lots of data. Do not use the state run telecom (Mobitel) sim; the speed of internet is rather slow. When you walk out of the airport, there are stalls for many operators. Choose any. The Mobitel stall is right near the immigration counter so there is temptation to buy the sim right there. Stop! Don't succumb to the temptation and buy one outside.

A villa in a beautiful garden with 4 suits and a little house for a family. Our room was just fabulous, with a big balcony overlooking the garden and pool. About 1km from the beach , a short ride with a Tuk-Tuk, 200 rupees, 400 rupees to Unawatuna or Galle Fort for dining outside the hotel . There are none restaurants nearby in walking distance, but some shops and fruit stalls . You have to try the Curry they prepare in Bilin Tree House - best we tried. The 2 staff were awesome, very friendly, working all day , with cleaning or gardening and looking after us and the hotel.2

SriLanka is one place where we felt that everyone we met were absolutely warm and welcoming. Bilin treehouse was no exception.
From our caretakers to the owners of the property, every one of them were super friendly and made our stay quite memorable.
Our main caretaker Mr.Madhusha (fondly known as Madhu) is an amazing chef and you should definitely try his authentic Lankan meal. He was also very accommodating to our requests. His helpers, Mr.Dilan, and Mr. Indika were also super friendly and made us feel at home right from the time we set foot in the property.
Our tour guide and chauffer was Mr.Jaya is a great tour guide, and he made sure we visited every important place around southern SriLanka. He was also very accommodating to all our needs.
Last but not least, we had the opportunity to meet the owner of the property Mr.Neel who is one humble human being. He coordinated with all his staff to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay.
Also make sure to checkout their other properties like Hotel Tartaruga which is about 10/15 minutes drive from bilin treehouse. The restaurant is on a Beachfront and the food is absolutely mouthwatering.
Overall, one of the best experiences we've ever had.

We love, love, loved this place!! We could have stayed longer than the five days! Honestly I’ve never had a better experience at a Hotel!! We felt like a King and Queen here. The staff, service, food, bedding and pool were all five star! We loved Madusha and Indika as they went above and beyond to make us feel special, relaxed and happy. We had many laughs with them and lots of delicious meals in the hotel which Madush cooked for us! He’s an amazing cook!!! The boys made us feel so special on Christmas Day by taking us to the fish market to chose what we wanted for dinner and we had the best prawns done two ways as we couldn’t decide! What service!!! We will miss our new Sri Lankan friends but we will be back soon! I would highly recommend this place if you want a boutique style hotel where you feel like you are the only guests there to relax and unwind.

We stayed there for 2 nights and we had the whole villa for ourselves. We were amazing by the way we have been taken care of by the staffs there. Breakfast was included and they had varieties of western and local cuisine for us to choose. Room were really spacious and well maintained. Amenities and toiletries weren’t wow. Highly recommended for the people who just want to spend their time with their loved ones.

I can call this place as a home away from home. It is very private, filled with greenery you can sit back and relax under the shades of trees. This place is ideal for a couple or a family. I must say the staff was very attentive specially from time of making the reservation to the point where we left the property we were taken good care. I must mention Lahiru and Ajith for their attentiveness. Keep up the good work, and add more variety to the in house meals.

The property was well managed and the rooms are quiet spacious with balconies. The property is located at the centre and is hardly 3-4 kms from prime locations such as Galle Dutch Fort, Unawatuna Beach etc. The pool is the highlight of the property. The food prepared is great. The caretakers - Indica and Lahiru were supportive, courteous and professionals.

i stumbled upon this place very randomly and booked the three bedroom bunglow for 7 members of my family. Upon arrival, i realised i made a great decision. A calm, cool serene place with a beautiful bunglow of southern architecture and we were overjoyed upon seeing the pool! The place is a colonial bunglow modernized with hot water and air conditioning and we loved how even then the authenticity of the southern heritage is still preserved. The staff was accomodating to us beyond expectations. Although it was only one helper due to the current situation of the country, he, Krishan, provided an excellent service! His food was delicious, ask for the calamari dish by him, the perfect combination of seafood tang and southern spicy cuisine. No complains, one of the best places i have stayed and will be returning soon!

During my trip to Sri Lanka, Bilin House was an incredible experience. A really peaceful and unwinding location for a relaxing vacation.
Since we made our reservation, the staff at the Billing House has provided us with outstanding customer service. In particular, we are grateful to Ajith, who helped us make our reservation, arranged transportation for us to take a tour of Gall, and suggested the attractions in Gall to see while we were there.
The breakfast I had at the Bilin home reminded me of home. There the chef prepared a delicious and fresh breakfast.
Also, a particular thanks to Chef Lahiru, who went above and above to help us with cooking and other needs while we were there.
Definitely looking forward to visiting Bilin Tree House during my next vacation.

We spent 2 nights at this property. After searching a lot for many days, finally closed this property. Beautiful and very well designed. Peaceful and I the middle of Galle and Unnawatuna. The interiors and cleanliness was outstanding. Definitely value for money. The owner Neel, Manager Ajith and caretaker Indica and Lahuri were very kind, helpful and warm. They made us feel home and fed us amazing food. During our stay we even went to owner's other property called Tartaruga where we had delicious food at beach side. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Galle. Away for hustle bustle of the main town yet intriguing.
