Detailed Reviews
We could have stayed in the heritage area of Galle Fort, where there are plenty of boutique hotels and places catering for tourists. We're glad that we opted instead to stay at Brixia on Sri Dewamiththa Mawatha, a neighbourhood right by the rail and bus stations. It is run by an Italian woman and her Sri Lankan husband and they made us so welcome from the moment that we arrived. The location is really good, a few minutes walk to a local cafe with curries, as well as little, 'hole in the wall' shops and the Punyasara Buddhist statue, Sri Dewamiththa Mawatha. It's a short walk to Galle's cricket ground, named after the ex-president and another 5 minutes walk from there to the entrance to Galle Fort.
Our room was really spacious, with a balcony, up on the third floor. The en-suite bathroom was clean and modern, with a big walk in shower. Breakfast was brilliant every morning, with egg, fresh fruit and delicious cappuccini. We enjoyed a Sri Lankan breakfast on our last morning too.
We couldn't ask for more. Brixia was a really great place to stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Words cannot fully describe the amazing time and vibe we had staying at Brixia, but I will try anyway: spotless clean hotel, with tasteful details and fragrances that already tell you there is a different level of standard. The standards we all miss a little bit while travelling across Asia. Great design and details throughout the building. Both Enza and Jinendra are warm and kind hosts, available for a chat about life stories, advices about the surroundings, organising transportation, etc. Amazing breakfast with Italian standard coffee and Cappuccino, finally! Freshly cut fruit, bakery items, eggs cooked as you choose and more. You can feel they care about you and your experience while at their venue. All that for a great value for money. Best of luck and congratulations for creating something so cool in the heart of Galle! We will be back to say Ciao!

Stayed here for one night in Galle with my wife. This hotel was in our top three of places that we stayed in Sri Lanka.
The interior and aesthetics of the hotel are great. The staff are excellent - very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable, with excellent beds, pillows and linens. The air conditioning functions well and the rooms are fairly quiet considering the location close to the train and bus station. The bathroom is nice and light, and the shower has excellent water pressure and temperature control. The breakfast was very very good, as was the coffee.
All that is left to say is that we wished there were similar hotels in a number of cities and towns we stayed as it is a great bench mark for others to observe - all round it was a great stay.

This guesthouse is one of the best I’ve stayed in. The rooms alone are gorgeous, the area isn’t too noisy, and because it’s outside the fort you have the benefit of the city life too. I stayed for 2 days and then owners couldn’t have done more to help me, my phone wouldn’t charge one night and they sorted me out with that, they gave me directions all of it. I couldn’t have stayed somewhere nicer. When I come back to Sri Lanka I will definitely be staying here again.

What a wonderful little guesthouse in the middle of galle. Very central, you get to Galle Fort in about 5 minutes of walking. It's modern, it's clean, the wifi is fast, and the food is very good. The owners wife is from Italy, and she knows how to cook Italian style. You can also order any type of fish, and the owner will manage it, fresh from from the fish market. If you want to learn more about the culture and history of sri Lanka, he is happy, if he can answer all your questions. We enjoyed our stay there, and wish you all the best..ronny and katha

A really pleasant surprise and a great place for my last night in Sri Lanka. The room is a decent size, clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a really handy location. Perhaps a 20 min walk to the Lighthouse. I was also really impressed with the fact that I had to leave the hotel at 6am in order to get my flight, and the hotel owner got up to make me a brew and small bit of breakfast.

Very nice staff, good location (only a few minutes walking from the Fort)
Our room was spacious and extremely clean (everything looked very new, especially the bathroom)
We had here our best breakfast while in Sri Lanka, with the perfect mix between salty and sweet products (everything was EXTREMELY fresh and tasty!)

Heartwarming Italian hospitality with fantastic food. The rooms are clean, smart and new. The location is perfect, close to the fort and buzzing city, but quiet enough not to disturb your sleep. Would visit it again

Everything about this hotel is stunning! The level of cleanliness, the decor, the service are well above the usual standards for Sri Lanka. We traveled around the Country and been in many accommodations and by far this is the best, with a great price point. The rooms are spacious, spotless clean, furnished with a neat and well thought taste and so are the common spaces. The owners make you feel welcomed and cared for: a truly premium experience. It is located near the Fort and the train station so easy to visit around at walking distance. We will definitely come back as we had a 5 stars stay!

We absolutely loved this hotel, the staff are so welcoming, the hotel itself is impressive, impeccable design and cleanliness, really modern and very clean. The breakfast is really good, filling and a good range of items. The bed is comfortable and the room has all the amenities you would need. Large balcony with drying rack, huge shower which is designed beautifully. We would definitely recommend this hotel, is it just a short walk to the cricket stadium, the fort and the lighthouse is about 2km away but there is plenty to see on your walk down. It is slightly noisy around the area but we’ve found that to be quite common in Sri Lanka. There are also many cats at the cafe which we didn’t mind as cat lovers, but it’s worth noting.
