Travelled as a family of 3 over Christmas 2015/16. This hotel ended ut 2.5 week travels around Sri Lanka and was a wonderful full stop to the trip. Our room was amazing (Blue) especially the bathroom. The staff were sweet and attentive. Best toasted cheese and tomato sandwich i have ever had and the mango martini was sublime. We ate... More

An utterly tranquillising retreat set up in the hills behind Galle. Truly a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are huge with relaxing large bath tubs and open rainforest showers. Lovely wooden furniture/ antiques and a style unique with colonial Dutch architecture. With only 3 rooms it is an intimate place to stay perfect for couples. We were luckily enough... More

Two adult family couples, we stayed in the Ball Suite and the Blue Suite, the two large end-cap suites that are closest to the cricket field and pool. As there were no other guests during our stay, we essentially had the entire property to ourselves and it was nothing short of amazing. With breakfast on the veranda each morning, and... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at The Dutch House which is outside of the Fort but only a 15 min minute walk or a quick tuk tuk ride. There are tuk tuks outside of the Hotel. We stayed in The Ball Room which is suite sized, very private and wonderfully decorated. Breakfast is excellent and served just outside of the... More

Staying at the Dutch House is like sleeping in a museum/art gallery. The place is tastefully decorated with antique furniture and modern art works which create rooms which are a work of art. Mod cons such as televisions and halogen lighting are replaced by bookshelves, antique maps and lamps creating an ambience of yesteryear. The four poster bed with mosquito... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Dutch house. The whole experience was one of tranquility. The Dutch house eggs are amazingly good . We walked across the road to the sun house for some meals as both properties owned by same owner. The cooking in the kitchen at the sun house was delicious. If anyone knows how to make their... 4 nights in this charming colonial house. Peaceful and comfortable, home from home comforts. The suites are large and furnished to a very high standard down to the last detail, it must be one of the most well preserved houses of this era. Large sofas in the living rooms surrounded by book cases filled with great books, a large garden... More

My husband and I stayed at the Dutch House for 4 days. We had a very pleasant stay and we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the house. There is a large garden where you can relax, beautiful swimming pool and very nice suites (the blue suite is ok, but if you can choose I would ask for the other suites... More

Incredible house/mansion with huge suites, large and quiet space to relax in the garden, swim in the pool or play croquet! The manager also organised for us a private lunch at Tambone Island with access to all their facilities a private dinner in the gardens with fire lanterns and the service with everything was world class. Highlight was the monkey... More
