Visited this hotel for lunch. We ate in the rooftop harbour bar, which had fabulous views across Galle and the surrounding area, and was a wonderful place to sit and relax. I only had a sandwich, but my companions said the food was excellent. Worth the climb up the stairs. The staff were polite and welcoming.

Lady Hill is located at the highest point overlooking Galle with jaw dropping views. The lovely entrance set the tone for the spacious, airy reception area tastefully decorated with artwork. Warm greetings, drinks and towels before a quick checkin. My room was on the top floor- impressive modern decor with thoughtful layout including a daybed and a balcony overlooking more... More

Absolutely wonderful, very friendly, warm, helpful team at Lady Hill, Galle. From the moment if our welcome to our reluctant departure, everything was perfect. The attention to detail was really good, and the view of Galle and the ocean from their roof top restaurant is breath-taking. Would strongly recommend

The hotel is lovely! The way to the reception was through a Koi pond. Their interiors were beautiful. What I loved the most is the room design. The glass ceiling by the hallway, the wood storage of the bar fridge and the closet and the bathroom is walled with mirrors! Their complimentary breakfast is generously served! We were full until... What a beautiful little property on the hill in Galle! Wonderful view and food, extremely helpful and courteous staff, clean and lovely room with balcony overlooking jungle. Easy to book excursions with hotel staff. Experienced the "Triple R" ayurvedic treatment package with resident practitioner, who was very kind and gentle, the treatments were super relaxing. I made a reservation for my clients in this hotel in October 2014 for 4 rooms, it was on request and the hotel confirmed the booking. Before arriving I send 3 e-mails to ask if they had a babycot for the youngest traveller and my last e-mail was titled "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REPLY" but I never got any reaction of... More

We stayed here for just the one night after a couple of weeks backpacking, it was a great choice. The hotel was fantastic and the service even better. We were welcomed by the maitre d'hotel who who extremely friendly, welcoming and attentive. The food on the beautiful roof terrace was almost as sublime as the view. The rooms although not... More

We returned here again on our visit to Galle. The food is still as good as it was 14 months ago especially the curries. You can eat here for 3 people's with drinks for under usd 30. The staff are very attentive even when the hotel has a power cut during dinner. A lovely spot

From the moment of our arrival we very impressed by Lady Hill Hotel. The beautiful pool in front of the charming historic building and ground level dining room with its fine architecture and wall sculptures and the friendly welcome and exotic refreshing drink combined for a memorable arrival. Although the room was compact it was fine for us and included... More

I am reluctant to share this hotel with fellow travellers as I want to keep it all to myself! Every year we travel to Sri Lanka as we love the country, the people, the food and the culture. However, the trip would be unthinkable without a visit to the wonderful 'Lady Hill Hotel'. From the minute you step up to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled atop the highest point of the ancient port city of Galle sits the Lady Hill Hotel, where you will be overwhelmed by the breathtaking and panoramic “Bird’s Eye View” of the lush green countryside stretching from the tea covered slopes of the Southern foothills all the way down to merge with the brilliant blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Located in close proximity to the city’s pulsating heart and to some of the best beaches in the Island, yet secluded enough to offer a measure of tranquility and serenity, that the discerning traveler eagerly looks forward to after a weary bout of sightseeing and exploration. Thereby, adhering to the watchwords “Lose yourself in the Experience and not in the Crowd”.Entering the portals of the Lady Hill, one is treated to an architectural edifice, echoing the legacy of the ancient Colonial Dutch period, from the imposing entrance archway, down to the natural cobblestone floor. However, as you progress through the lobby, where you will be greeted with the traditional Sri Lankan welcome of “AYUBOWAN”, which translates as “May You Have Long Life”, you notice a subtle but appreciative change in the conceptual idea. You will be ushered to your room via a rustic granite stone stairway, flanked by a strip of fresh water fish ponds and upon entering your room, will be amazed to find that you have been transported from the past into the future within the space of a few short ticks of the clock. The rooms are furnished with ultra modern futuristic style décor and posses state of the art facilities and amenities which are all that you, as an honored guest, could possibly hope for. ... more   less
