We stayed for 3 nights (1-3 Jan 2017) and so glad we choose fort Printers over any of the other hotels in the Fort. The style and ambiance of this hotel is fantastic. The staff couldn't do more to help and the food is amazing. It's a very special place.

At the junction of Church St and Pedlar St right in the heart of Galle Fort. Hotel full of courtyards with excellent dining to be had in them. Great place to eat. Small and elegant pool in one of the courtyards, and well laid out reception rooms. The bedrooms (we stayed in Geography - it's an old building repurposed -...

We took a break from the heat by diving into this lovely hotel, which happened to have a nice, cool bar area. Had wonderful hospitality from Tharanga, the bartender, who whipped up a fantastic Manhattan upon request despite it being off-menu. Just what we needed! Thanks so much.

This hotel has been lovingly built notwithstanding the various restrictions placed on developments in the Fort area so our room was in the part that was once a school and in fact the sign above the door still said "history". Super luxury rooms, great service and very good food all right in the middle of the Fort. Unfortunately for light...

The Fort at Galle is very busy, hot, cosmopolitan and a hive of activity. Then you enter a calm oasis that is The Fort Printers. Large cool airy rooms and shady court yards to relax in. When you arrive you get a guided tour to put the buildings into historical context. The breakfast was a set menu delivered to your...

The hotel is old and beautiful and has so much history attached to it. The manager Peter was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the features. Our room was huge and the air conditioning was a great respite from the heat. Very tasteful decor. The breakfast was outstanding, made to order and fresh. We are sorry we didn't also have dinner...

My husband and I had a fantastic experience honeymooning here! The staff were warm and friendly and willing to bend over backwards for their guests! The food was delicious and the hotel well placed for getting around Galle. And the pool under the frangipani tree was a particular highlight on a hot Galle afternoon. We can recommend this hotel without...

We spent one night here but really wish we'd stayed longer. What a lovely building, full of character, and Peter - who showed us around - was full of interesting info about the building. The situation is excellent for exploring Galle Fort, the room was spacious and quirky, and the food in the evening was positively gourmet!! There is a...

We were on honeymoon in Sri Lanka and had a number of hotels, but this was the best. As two history buffs we were blown away with the handsome bedrooms (we stayed in the oldest part of the hotel in the ‘Geography’ room). Breakfast and dinner were both a charming mix of local cuisines with a european twist. Staff were...

“Guests get the convenience of hotel services and the ambiance of a villa at Fort Printers… The eighteenth-century mansion turned printing facility now houses five stylish, antiques-filled suites—four linked via a second-story walkway, common in colonial buildings of the era; the fifth, poolside.
