Located within the old town, with a balcony to sit and enjoy the view over the wall to the ocean. Close to sights, restaurants and shops. Room was lovely and airy with a wonderful ensuite bathroom and balcony. Breakfast was served in another building around the corner, the Sri Lankan breakfast of hoppers was excellent however the western egg and... More

The place is simple but very nice. Provides all the necessary for a pleasant stay. The location is perfect, very near the main restaurants and shops but still in a quiet location. Would definitely go back for some more days!

We were a family of four staying one night in Galle. We arrived at Khalids and were met by friendly staff who helped with our luggage. After a short wait we met the manager Nimali who was absolutely delightful. She invited us to look at the rooms in Pedlar street and other rooms in the the Small House in Parawa... More

This was my favourite hotel during our trip to Sri Lanka. The hotel has a lovely old-style charm, was clean and uncluttered. It's in an excellent location in the heart of the old town and fort. Our room was clean and the balcony had views overlooking the fort wall and the sea. Wifi worked perfectly, the shower was better than... More

We recently stayed at Khalids for 2 nights in Galle. It is in a quaint cobbled street, inside the Fort area. We were delighted to discover that our 2 bedroom booking translated to an entire house to ourselves, with a gorgeous courtyard, spic and span living area, and 2 chic, airconditioned rooms, beautifully furnished. The host Khalid, and the hostess... More

After reading good reviews and ratings we were really disappointed when we got to Khaled's. The room was really run-down but worst was that the owner/ host was really rude and greedy. We had talked to him on the phone before coming, but felt that he had fooled us. Traveling all over Sri Lanka for several weeks, this was the... More

A superb stay in terrific Galle, a town that reminded me of Olinda, near Recife, in Brazil. Our guest house has a superb location, close to the ocean and walls of the fort, close to restaurants and shops. Khalid's is a rustic family home, and we had a large room with a balcony with a bit of an Indian Ocean... More

We booked here for a one night stay. The guesthouse is not signposted, and when we called the guesthouse for directions, the owner spoke to our driver and berated him for not calling him AFTER we got into the fort, and cut the call without giving him any directions. When I called back to ask him if he was prepared... More

A fantastic room with a balcony overlooking the fort walls and the sea. A great location to visit the whole fort and easy access to all restaurants and bars. A lovely breakfast and helpful staff I would love to come back and stay again

There are quite a few guest houses inside the Fort now but I'm glad I chose Khalid's. There's no sign outside but all the locals know it and will be happy to point you in the right direction. Everywhere is very clean, the staff are busy all day keeping it that way. The manager was waiting for me, and took... More
